Rejecting Wisdom Is What Fools Do!

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 NIV
Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Proverbs 4:5-7 NIV

Whenever we need to grasp a better understanding of what we are seeing in Washington, DC, reading Proverbs reminds us that those who lack wisdom are the fools in charge--for now.

How did this happen? Gullible people--fearful, hateful, and spiteful--decided to believe all the disinformation and misinformation promoted by the racist bigots with the help of Russian trolls.

Though many did not like Hillary Clinton (actually hated her), they hated her without justification based upon the political, tribal agenda of the Republicans. Had they listened to her, and accepted the wisdom they did not agree with--this country would not be a laughingstock in the eyes of other nations. Whether people liked her or not--she told us exactly what would happen if the menace in the White House was elected.

She warned of his being triggered by tweets.

She warned of his authoritarian--dictatorial mentality.

She warned us that he would lie about any and everything.

She warned us that his hatred would reign in his decisions.

She warned us that any tax reform would only benefit the rich.

She warned us that millions would be without adequate healthcare.

She warned us that budget slashes would affect the poor and the needy.

She warned us that he would turn on the LGBQT community.

She warned us that he was Putin's puppet.

She warned us that his ego would lead us into places wise men would not go.

Isn't it amazing how God references wisdom in the "feminine" voice! This refutes the notion that God views women as inferior to men.

Since we cannot go back in time and change anything, it is time we sought wisdom and stopped thinking we know it all--like the rest of the fools.

Obtaining wisdom leads us to understanding why right-wing evangelicals felt the need to lie to their congregations and are still lying to America--at those to those who bother to listen to them.

Obtaining wisdom leads us to understanding why we should never take our democracy for granted since we see the results of a wanna-be dictator trying to dismantle our Constitution.

Obtaining wisdom leads us to understanding why we should research information for ourselves and not allow the opinions of a few--especially those with distorted views--feed us information that will eventually lead to our destruction.

Obtaining wisdom leads us to listening to those who are far wiser than we are, whether we agree with them or not--it should make us stop and think--critically--of what it is we're hearing.

Hopefully, we have seen so much foolishness that we will certainly acquire the wisdom needed to right the wrongs and set America back on the track of greatness and honor. We can exercise wisdom in the coming elections by analyzing what has occurred and concluding what could result if the party of grand old prevaricators stay in power. They have proven they will not uphold their oaths of office and do their job by covering for the pathological liar, making excuses for his incompetence and hatefulness.

Determine now--that never again--will we allow anyone to mislead us and encourage us to vote for political candidate out of hatred, bigotry and fear. For the those of us who claim to be Christians--we should know, "perfect love cast out fear." Where there is fear, a fearful heart, and unjustifiable fear of people--there is no love. Where there is no love, people live in darkness for love is light in dark places. Where there is love--unconditionally--for all people--there is no room for hatred and bigotry.

Determine now--that we will walk in love towards all people--endeavoring to live at peace with the world, learning to disagree, agreeably--not with malice in our hearts. We will walk in wisdom in coming elections--voting for the person who cares about all people--not just a group--and one who consider policies that benefit all--not just some. America is "one nation" composed of many diverse people--all of whom have much to contribute to our society and our ability to thrive as a nation.

The person we next elect as president of the "United" (not separated/divided) States of America should be an Everyday American who knows and understands the struggles and challenges of Everyday Americans and one who will fight for the rights of all Everyday Americans without denigrating or maligning others.

I am an Everyday American. I cherish and embrace wisdom and know how to reject foolishness. I know I can serve the needs of all Everyday Americans regardless of political affiliations, gender, ethnicity, or faith. My loyalty will be to the people, not a party and I will work with all who choose to serve Americans.

Speaking What Is Right!

Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance she cries aloud: To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. My mouth speaks what is true for my lips detest wickedness. All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. Before we get too far into the meat of this text--this is not going to be an exegesis of this segment of Proverbs, but it is fitting to note, just how apropos it is for the following promotion of my potential candidacy in 2020.

For the last few months, if not longer, most who read my blog know, I'm exploring a run for President in 2020. I've talked to a number of people--some who think it's a great idea and some who don't; I've run online surveys to get a sense of the issues that concern most people; I've participated in marches and will continue to do so; I've researched state requirements to get on the ballot in all 50 states; I'm participating in training sessions to get it right, and getting more involved in my community so I'll know I'm speaking on behalf of the people and not myself.

For the next year or so, until June 2019, I'll be working on putting together a coalition of Everyday Americans who want to see significant changes in Washington and are willing to work for it to happen. We'll have to cover a lot of territory and as of this writing, I have yet to attempt to raise funds for a campaign. I am cautiously optimistic that when the time comes; we will have presented and promoted such a dynamic case of why I should be in the White House, money will come so we can turn things around and reclaim our position as leaders to the world. I'm convinced we can do this and the world will think better of us.

However, I want the masses to make that decision, not me. I believe in me and I want others to believe in me, too. I will respond to legitimate, serious comments, questions as quickly as I can. I will not respond or react to hateful, bigoted, misogynistic rhetoric because that would be a waste of my time, talent, and wisdom. 

For what it's worth, I will not lower my standards or values to interact with people who simply want to disdain, malign or belittle others--for any reason--and especially not because some--are simply bigoted racists. Am I perfect? Not hardly. A friend of mine coined a phrase that I'll use often (I told her I would); I am flawed with fortitude in my commitment and passion to make a real difference in this country that will benefit all.

New School Year!

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young–let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance–for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. Though there are those in the WH administration who do not think an education is important, those of us who know The Lord, know wisdom and knowledge go hand-in-hand and we should never take access to a quality education for granted.

So, on this first day of a new school year–I’m praying for the students who are entering schools all over the place. I know that some schools (not in Michigan) started weeks ago, but this is the first day for many of our public schools and having access to education through public schools is important.

Of course, Betsy DeVos will never understand that and neither will trump supporters since they think getting an education makes a person “an elitist,” and therefore they are happy to stay ignorant and trump is also happy for them to say ignorant; he can continue to dupe them into believing anything he says. I guess they don’t realize he has a Bachelor’s degree, but then again, the way he talks and writes, no one would believe that anyway.

I’m straying from what I need to say: to the students who are crossing that threshold of your school building–have a wonderful first day and a great exploration throughout the school year. Stay respectful and inclined to learning.

This is a particular emotional day for me since my grandson is beginning his last year of high school–at 15 years-old and will soon be driving (in a few days) on his own. Time flies and next year, he’ll begin his first day of college.

I pray that every student, in every school, will clear their minds of old lazy habits and prepare to receive wisdom and instruction from every teacher in every classroom; by the end of the school year, all will be more knowledgeable about every subject taken than when they were on the first day.

For those 17 years-old and older–pay attention in your history and government classes so you will vote wisely and consider country over political party agendas.

How We Avoid Hate!

To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. All a person's ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Proverbs 16:1,2
When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone's way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. Better a little with righteousness than much with injustice.  7,8
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. The wise are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction. 18-21
A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends. A violent person entices their neighbor and leads them down a path that is not good. 28, 29
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. 32
One of the most significant ways we can avoid situations that lead to hate is to understand how hate manifests itself. Hate doesn't just show up out of the blue--it is planted, fertilized and nurtured to fruition by those who are insecure, fearful, and resentful (and incapable of rational thought).

People who have severe doubts about their own ability to accomplish things resent those who are confident and their lives demonstrate their confidence. Generally speaking, they will fertilize their insecurities by blaming others for what they have not achieved, and the more they blame others, the more they nurture their hatred. They teach their children to hate others because of fear--not knowledge--and those fears for the most part are baseless because insecure people--don't venture far from their base of comfort. In other words, they have not lived a full life--one in which they ventured far from home and experienced life outside their parameters of their comfort zone.

The same people are incapable of understanding that we can be passionate in our disagreement with others, but we don't have to allow the disagreement to lead to hate. We must understand that it is our right to disagree, but we can disagree, agreeably which won't lead to wars or rumors of wars or bullying rhetoric. Hate spreads when people who are incapable of rational thought never realize that they are not always right and that others don't have to agree with them. They have yet to understand what "individuality" means.

If God had wanted clones--He could have created them. We would all look alike, think alike and never have any need to use our brains or vocal cords.

What we must do to avoid the proliferation of hatred, bigotry, and senseless fear is to realize we all have something to contribute to society in productive, constructive ways and none should be ignored or disregarded simply because of race, ethnicity, religion, gender or any other factor. We must realize that God created one race of people--the human race with one blood surging through all--it's red--no matter the color of skin is.

With insecurities--comes the tendency to think a person or a group of people is superior to another. In order to perpetuate the lies--they create all sorts of false data, write books with suspicious documentation to prove they are superior to others. We see this in the beliefs of all the "white nationalists" or other hate groups who actually believe they are superior to every other group of people. They do not know or understand that the cradle of civilization began on the continent of Africa and that skin tones changed as man migrated to cooler climates. Education would be extremely beneficial to debunk all these myths, but for those who hate--irrationally--they tend to think that having an education is synonymous with being elitist. Therefore, they revel in their ignorance and nurture their hate.

There's an adage that says, "ignorance is bliss" and we can see that being true for those who choose to blame others for their shortcomings and positions in life. They're happy with their ignorance and would rather hate than learn to live peaceably in society.

We know that when we disagree (especially in households), we should never allow the sun to go down and we're still angry. Be passionate in disagreement, but ready to concede the possibility of being wrong and be willing to do the research to make a verifiable point and not just rely upon "an opinion" with no legs.

We can avoid planting the seeds of hatred and bigotry by recognizing that we are part of a greater world and we don't have a right to expect others to live  by what we think or believe. We can educate ourselves (with all of the accessible technology) and not hold others accountable for what we don't accomplish. We can learn to love--unconditionally--just as God loves us and with that love--there's no room for hate. We can stop fertilizing and nurturing hatred by accepting responsibility for what we do and say or for what we don't do. We are responsible for everything we say--good or bad--and everything we do--good or bad and we cannot blame others for our actions or inactions.

When we learn to critically analyze why we think what we think, believe what we believe, or do what we do--we'll discover there is more to life and living than what we think we know.

Be Still and Know!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;  he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalm 46 NIV
I know there are many people out there right now who disdain the use of “God” or “Jesus” and they feel justified in doing so, but I’m reminding those who believe in His plan for their lives to remember His promises and be still and know, He has not forgotten you.

In the midst of crisis, it’s difficult for any of us to stay focused on God’s promises when we feel our lives are at risk. Believing God does not mean we do stupid things or act unwisely in the midst of a crisis, but we seek His wisdom and hold fast to our faith that He will make a way.

Hurricanes are an act of nature and God saves in the midst of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and all manner of situations in which we have no control. But if we act wisely, trusting our dependence on Him, He will see us through what nature tends to throw our way.

Yes, bad things happen to good people and only God knows why He allows certain things to happen to some people and not others. I’m not God, so I’m not going to pretend I have all the answers, but I trust Him. “In all our getting, get wisdom.” “Wisdom is the principal thing.” Solomon repeatedly refers to the wisdom being the utmost importance. When we things through and act wisely, we could avoid certain devastations. And though we get upset over the loss of things, we must remember things can be replaced–lives won’t be. So the wisdom we must exercise is about saving lives, not things.

Even though Harvey was predicted in enough time for people to make provisions to move out of the way of danger, most people could not have imagined the rain that would proceed in the aftermath.
This is not an act of God–it is an act of nature and if anyone wants to attribute the storm to being an act of God, and attempt to claim it is retribution for the people who live there–they make a mockery of who God is.

For the religious-right who have said John McCain’s cancer is God’s retribution because of a vote–shame on them. They obviously have no knowledge of God and how He functions in the earth. But the rub here is–some of those same folks would “never” say the storm is retribution for the wrongs they have done against the poor and the needy. God doesn’t get into our politics because what we do–who we vote for and put into positions of authority are on us–and when we don’t act wisely, we don’t get wise leadership in those positions of authority.

In the coming days, it will be extremely difficult for some to hold onto their faith and know that in the end, everything will be all right. I’m confident that acting wisely, seeing to the needs of others and taking care of self will result in lives being saved. I encourage everyone who can to make donations to American Red Cross so they will have adequate resources to meet the needs of the people. Donations can be made online (with a minimum of $10). I made my contribution and would love to see as many people as possible do the same–especially those who recently won lotteries. Now is a good time to help others in need.

My heart and thoughts are embedded in the crisis in Texas and I will continue praying for their safety and for the rains to abate. God knows what it is He wants to accomplish in the hearts of men and women everywhere and I’m sure it will be as He has determined.  Stay safe!

Show Us "The Good" in the GOP!

I keep hearing about how “good” people are who have failed to uphold their oaths of office in Congress and in White House.

If these are so good, show us the good they have done that benefits all people:

Paul Ryan
Mitch Connell
Tom Cotton
Darrell Issa

Any of the Republicans who claim to be Christians who have promoted bigotry and divisiveness during the years President Obama was in office and yet now, they want everyone to lick trump’s boots–show us the good they have done.

Most–if not all–are complicit in the Russian meddling with the 2016 Election and all will be exposed soon. Their hands are dirty with money laundering and promising favors and playing footsy with Putin. These so-called upright Christians who do more to harm the poor and the needy than they do to fend the rights of the poor and the needy.

Most–if not all–are only in politics for what they get out of it–access to world leaders and big business so they can make money by caving to lobbyists. And when they make money, they forget how to keep their oaths.

Most–if not all–have failed the United States miserably when they allowed trump to be their nominee. They knew he’d never “pivot” because he has no desire to pivot. Any time a person thinks they are better and far more superior to others–they see no need to change and they don’t. He showed us the first time around that he was a misogynist, bigot, and racist. He showed us he didn’t care about poor folks or black folks or any people of color by how he treated them.

Remember him having the homeless veteran arrested because having him on the corner brought down the value of his “tower?”

Remember how he chose to keep black people from renting any of his apartments?

Remember all the hateful things he said about Mexicans and Muslims?

Remember all the hateful lies he promoted about Hillary Clinton?

Remember how he used his foundation as a personal ATM for purchasing paintings, sculptures, and other paraphernalia that had nothing to do with the purpose of his foundation?

Remember him saying that he’s rich because he never uses his own money to do things?

Remember how he bragged at one point in his life about his only war was about fighting STDs?

Remember his hateful remarks to a war hero, after he obtained deferments for questionable reasons?

Remember how he is the only person who has proclaimed his wealth and fame?

Remember all those things he did during the campaign and now after being installed in the WH (the dump he said)?

If he is such a good person and those who keep making excuses for him are such good people, why is there such turmoil in the land? Why are hate groups thanking him for not calling them out? Why is Russia probe so unnerving to him?

If he is such a gifted communicator–why is that every time he speaks–everyone has to rush to explain what he “meant” because he didn’t say what he meant.

Why is it that after being in office for eight months, he is still only talking to his base which includes the hate groups and ignores the rest of America?

Why is he more concerned with spending money on an investigation that has proven no guilt on the part of Hillary about her emails?

Why is he attempting to help defraud every state’s voting practices with his “Voter Fraud Commission” that is more about suppressing votes that discovering any election fraud?

Why is it that he’s campaigning for 2020 and using the donated funds to pay for his son’s attorney?

Why is it that he thinks we are all stupid and he’s the only intelligent being on the planet?

Why is it that every surrogate who speaks on his behalf lies and lies knowingly, and yet they claim to be Christians? Is it that they have not read with understanding the Bible?

Why is it that he wants to cut funding for services for the poor and yet taxpayers are covering the costs of his children’s security, his, and all of his trips which are bringing in the bucks for his businesses?

Why is that the same lawmakers who claim to be “conservative” won’t challenge trump’s trips and not pay for them or for his children’s business trips?

Why? Why? Why? The more I write, the more questions surface and I know I’ll never get the truth out of the “good people” in Congress or the WH for truth is not known to them. Ask Kellyanne Conway who invented alternative facts for this administration’s alternative universe and wants reporters to be “forced to say something favorable” about trump. Really? When there is very little if anything favorable to say about him, why would she want reporters to lie? Oh–she wants them to be like her.

So, if there’s “any good” in any of the aforementioned and some not named specifically, but are GOP–let all of us know about the good they do because we certainly don’t see it manifest itself in their legislating laws.

They have allowed their greed and need for power and status to overrule common dignity and love for all and until they recognize it, confess and repent of it, we shall remain the laughingstock of the world and no one will consider us a leader of anything but foolishness.

With the next election, we can change that–and make sure that honor and integrity once again dwell in the White House and wisdom reigns for the benefit of all Everyday Americans. I won’t need anyone spinning lies for me because Truth and I have a pretty good relationship and as a clear communicator–I know how to say what I mean and mean what I say–without additional explanation from others.

The Turn Around!

Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy. When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth. By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down. Those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet. Evildoers are snared by their own sin, but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.  The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. Mockers stir up a city, but the wise turn away anger. If a wise person goes to court with a fool, the fool rages and scoffs and there is no peace. The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity and seek to kill the upright. Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end. If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked. Proverbs 29:1-12 NIV
It is time for us to turn our situation around in America. No one should have to lose their life because of hatred, but we know--historically--that if we continue to ignore the obvious, more lives will be lost. We cannot hope to achieve any greatness by hating or promoting hatred. The bigotry that exists in the hearts of those who claim to know God, must be extinguished and never allowed to re-ignite flames of hatred.

For some--turning from their hatred--the seed that has been planted and nourished by ignorance and lies and sprouting and spreading through their lips--the journey to a pathway of seeing truth and admitting wrong will be a long one, but not an impossible. one. In order for a person to receive truth, they must desire truth and remove all the lies so truth will grow. I'm reminded of tending a garden. As long as the weeds are left alone, nothing of any substance will have room to grow. Lies are the weeds in our lives that must be uprooted so there will be room for truth to grow and change minds and hearts. 

If anyone claims no knowledge of what hate can do in a nation, they haven't been paying attention. Bigotry and hatred have existed in this country for centuries and it would appear that since it has not been totally eradicated, we will have to deal with it until it is. Right now, starting with every individual--there must be a concerted effort to eradicate hate and plant seeds of love to turn this situation around!

Bigotry and hatred (and greed) were the impetus for slavery in this country.

Bigotry and hatred were the seeds planted that rose up against efforts for equality between the races and genders in this country.

Bigotry and hatred are bred in the soil of ignorance and insecurity and fear in this country and fertilized by unwillingness to accept truth.

Bigotry and hatred continue to exist when people are close-minded and unwilling to consider they are not always right about anything.

As long as we are resistant to communicating effectively with others, willing to sit down and listen to views that are not like our own and recognize we have a right to disagree, but we should learn to do so, agreeably.

We all have choices to make--right now, in the coming days, and for the rest of our lives. We can choose to live in peace and harmony by loving one another or we can choose to live in chaos and strife, allowing hatred and bigotry to reign and destroy.

I don't know about you, but I choose to love and I have repeatedly stated that we can accomplish all things with love in our hearts, but the only end result of hatred and bigotry is destruction. I will not play a part in the destruction of a nation, but I will do all I can to build and stabilize the nation with love.

Knowing how to love and loving does not mean I have to agree with things that are not right and I won't. Loving means telling people the truth whether they want to hear it or not, and whether they receive it or not. I will not stop speaking truth to power or promoting truth to all who are in my social media communities and everywhere I go. No one has to agree with me; I accept that--but as God reveals clarity of His Word to me--I will promote it, no matter what happens. And our current political climate is weighed down with such hatred and bigotry by those who think they are superior to others that we need to learn how to turn this around. I'm willing and I hope others are, too.

We don't have to wait to 2020 to see a turn around in our nation, we can start now and strengthen our resolve to live in peace and love and in 2020 by choosing to elect a person who is willing to serve for the benefit of all Everyday Americans.

We Can Never Get Too Much Wisdom

Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4:10-19 NIV
If we read one segment of Proverbs on a daily basis and meditated on what Solomon is saying to us, we'd become wise enough to know--truth when we see and separate it from the fictional lies--offered as "alternative facts" and get America back on track to being as great as she is. Wisdom abides in the soul of the ones who came before us when they have learned their lessons well and share them so we won't make the same mistakes.

Our recorded history--world history--not just American history, should be lesson for us all to keep the evil of greed from leading an entire country in the wrong direction. Truth is a beacon of light that shines in dark places and finds every niche and cranny of evil trying to hide in the darkness and exposes it. 

Evil--in the person of alt-right groups who think they can defend their savior by threatening CNN hosts and their families. They are cowardly bullies, just like their savior--and though they claim to be Christians (most of them), they are no more Christian than my dog and I don't own one. Only evil and those influenced by it threaten to harm others simply because they cannot make people think the way they do. Wickedness resides in the hearts of those who encourage evil to run rampant and there is no place for love for hatred has taken root, and sucked all the life out of the person who may have been headed for greatness, but allowed evil to get in their way.

My prayer, for all those who exercise their right to freely express--in print and broadcast media--their findings of research and opinions on matters that affect the nation--is that every news outlet will stand--in lock-step, and not be moved--reporting every evil that surfaces and exposing those behind it. Most of us--as Patriots, stand behind the 1st Amendment and support a free press to keep our government accountable to the people.

For those who don't understand the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution or Bill of Rights, as some have demonstrated, let me remind you here:

Quick Reactions!

When we are reactionaries--reacting to situations rather than responders--we tend to do things we later regret or cause us remorse.

The toddler-in-chief in the White House is a reactionary--he thinks he's being tough being a bully, insulting others. He's not tough--he's insecure and weak--and his hasty reactions demonstrate his lack of ability to intellectually reason through any situation. His thin-skinned nature--unable to take comments from others in stride as real leaders learn to do, is a dangerous situation for all America.

His lack of discipline and impulsivity indicate a serious cognitive impairment and he's crying out for help, but his enablers--who won't tell him the truth--are leading him down a merry path of destruction for them--and the rest of us.

It only takes a second to react to a situation--igniting other reactions--and none of them positive.

It takes time to think--rationally--to provide an intelligent response to situation--that won't ignite or fuel stupidity.

trump is a reactor--not a responder and that makes him dangerous for all and let's not forget--he has the nuclear codes--not a good idea for a person incapable of thinking first.

But don't take my word for it--just review his actions for the last six months--without the rose-colored or rather "conservative" blinders.

Every day, he proves that we deserve a better leader--one who is capable of rational thought and will lead the country for the benefit of all Everyday Americans. We cannot expect change in the White House from a reactionary, so we must change who is in the White House so a responder is making decisions for all Americans.

Fools and Boasting!

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; and outsider, and not your own lips. Stone is heavy and sand a burden, but a fool's provocation is heavier than both. Proverbs 27:1-3 NIV
Whenever we have to promote ourselves as being, "the greatest, the best, the most wonderful," of anything--we indicate we do not trust the judgment of others.

If we take an honest look at the path trump has taken to the White House, we find (with careful scrutiny) he has been his own public relations promoter. The fact he lies about it is another issue, but he is the one who "called the press" and boasted of his exploits. He is the one who proclaims his net worth (which varies according to his feelings). He is the one who claims he is the only who can "fix the ills of the world." More recently, his claim to coining the phrase, "priming the pump" is so ludicrous that many--including me--laughed at his lack of understanding of history. He also claims that "using solar panels to build a wall" is his idea when he actually got it from two contractors who were bidding for the contract. His claims also include having influence over Carrier and Ford and other companies when in fact, decisions made by those companies occurred long before trump was elected, but it didn't stop him from trying to take credit for those company's decisions.

Let's face it--whenever people boast of their own prowess and knowledge--it's because it would be difficult for others to do it--without evidence to document what they say.

Since it would be "gossiping" to some extent to talk about other people, I have to use myself as an example. I have seldom commented on how others perceive my ability to teach because I don't know what they're thinking unless they tell me. I love to teach and I have one goal when I teach--to make sure those sitting in front of me know more than when they first attended class. I tell each class--I'm there to help them to succeed since they need no help to fail.

According to my students--at least those who passed my classes--my goal was met. Those who didn't pass the class either were slothful in attendance and did not complete required work.

Whenever I've been observed by colleagues or those in academic positions to observe me as part of an evaluative process, I've always been commended on my approach to teaching and engaging students in the process. Those written comments are documented as part of my employee file.

The student evaluations also document my ability to engage students in the process of learning as well as my own audit of every class. I always ask my students for their input on how things are progressing, what they need to know that has not been introduced, or if I need to try a different approach to information discussed. Their responses to my inquiries are always helpful and in a few instances, I've adjusted what I do based on their comments.

As another testament to my teaching ability, I was nominated by students to be included in the "Who's Who of Teaching" for several years in a row.

If I had to assess my own abilities as a teacher I'd have to say, "I'm not the person to ask." I love teaching and I love what I teach both in a secular settings and in ministry. I've been told I've very passionate when I present information and guide discussions and that would be true. If I didn't have strong beliefs in what I do, I couldn't do it well.

That being said, I have nothing to boast about when it comes to being president of the United States. I haven't been in politics before now, but I'm looking forward to the challenge and opportunity to serve Everyday Americans. I know enough about leadership not to provoke those who are in alliance with me and to not abandon those who are looking for a leader to lead for all--not just some of the people, and to seek those who know more than I do to place in positions of authority.

Praying For Wisdom!

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. By wisdom the Lord laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew. My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:13-24 NIV
In light of all the uproar and disastrous policy-making in Washington, DC by those who appear to lack wisdom, we must pray for wisdom--for them and for us. If they refuse to hear The Lord speak to their hearts, we must be open to hearing The Lord speak to our hearts and proceed with wisdom and knowledge in electing future legislators and in making the best decisions for our bodies and healthcare--if we plan to see long life.

We must look to The Lord for our example--moving in wisdom, knowledge and understanding and when we do, we'll end up with the results He promises--blessed beyond measure with riches and honor, long life, peace and sweet sleep. There's no need to fear when the love of Christ abides in our hearts and we know how to love others--unconditionally.

Father, in the name of Jesus,

We acknowledge that our wisdom is as dust in the wind and we have no idea where the dust will land or what will become of it. To You, O Lord, we look for direction, seeking Your Wisdom and knowledge in order to complete the journey of life You have planned for us.

Forgive us for thinking in our arrogance that we did not need You; we need You every hour of every day and our hearts are open to hearing what You have to say. We are determined to obey You in all things and we know that love covers a multitude of sins and that You know our motives for doing everything we do. Help us to keep our focus on You, Your Word deeply embedded in our hearts, and our tongues always exercising caution and wisdom so others will hear what we have to say.

Lord, for all those who have hardened their hearts against You and hearing what You have to say about all things, cut away the insecurities, the fear, the hate, the bigotry, the animosity and envy that has hardened their hearts and replace all that is not like You, with love overflowing.

Let compassion, wisdom and understanding reign in the hearts of all who are in positions of authority so that none have any reason to fear the outcome of decisions that affect millions of lives. Pour knowledge and understanding into the hearts of those who choose persons to be in positions of authority so wisdom wins and none will know lack--of anything.

We give You praise and thanks for all You have done and all You will do on behalf of all those who sincerely love You and act as You will have us to act--representing all You are. Let no one deter us from following the path You have established for us so You and only You get the glory for all we do.

Amen!

No matter what happens in life--we must move forward knowing that with Jesus going before us--we have nothing to fear when Love is our guiding force.

I encourage all to seek wisdom, knowledge and understanding for all upcoming elections and seek The Lord as to who will provide us great leadership, acting out of love--not envy, hate, or pride--doing what is right for the sake of doing what is right--not drawing attention to self--acting out of
pride.

I have sought The Lord and I'm seeking a path to run for president in 2020--making an official announcement in 2019 and I encourage all to seek the Lord and then obey what You hear.

Staying Focused!

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22 NIV
How many times have we planned to do something without adequate information? Those who know what I'm talking about, understand not having all the information needed to make an informed decision causes problems.

This happens in a number of instances. Deciding to paint a house without determining how much paint is needed, including the base or trim, or tape and brushes and tarps, and paint remover, etc. usually ends up with multiple trips to a store. Planning a dinner without checking to make sure one has all the necessary ingredients will cause frustration and anxiety if it's a special dinner. How about making a cake? Do we check to make sure we have eggs, flour, butter, sugar, etc. and the right cake pans before we start baking or do we end up running out to the store in the middle of making the cake?

If thinking about the above-mentioned things is important, how much more so is it important for us to know everything a major decision entails before we jump in, head first?

There are three things I want to reflect upon:
a)  The Special Elections in SC and GA
b) The Secret Healthcare Bill
c) Deciding to run for President

First, the special election results--were predictable and not a surprise to anyone, though some were disappointed. The difference in the outcome may have been changed with "consulting others with more experience," but though the Democrats did not win the seats, they did better than they were supposed to do--if we listen to Republicans.

Next, the secret healthcare bill being drafted by a handful of Republicans or their staffers and though not all have seen, Mitch McConnell expects to have a vote on it, without everyone being privy to it, and without "consulting the experts" to make sure any plans would be effective in keeping everyone insured. McConnell claims the Democrats didn't want to participate in the process, but the truth is--they were not invited to participate in the process, but neither were most of the Republicans. This is not a wise decision and if passed by Senate and House--will come back to bite Republicans in the butt on November 6, 2018. People have a bad habit of remembering those who plan to cause them harm--and they will remember it was the Republicans who took their healthcare.

Last of all--my decision to run for president. I've spent a great deal of my time, researching various aspects of issues on which I take a definitive stance and in talking to a multitude of people, getting their perspectives and seeing how they align with my own. We're in the process of forming a coalition to create challenges for me--to fine-tune my thinking about "everything." This is not to say I need to "know" everything, but I should know how to direct people to find answers I don't have.  In fact, I should know the people who have the answers and I'm working on it.

I'm watching all the political flurry across the nation and getting involved with local politics and it is a lot of work--not an undertaking anyone should consider lightly. I've given this a great deal of thought and nothing I've discovered so far has deterred me from my quest.

I'm thinking so far ahead that I've already contacted my local police department to alert them of possible traffic congestion in my neighborhood, once I officially announce my candidacy. I don't want my neighbors to get upset with me when reporters are taking up all the available space on the streets or clamoring for interviews at all hours. Just one thing on my check list--done.

Considering the fact that trump knew years before he ran that he was going to run for president, I would have thought he had an inkling as to how government works. He doesn't and that is appalling on a number of levels.

At any rate, I will plan wisely with the assistance of wise counsel from various walks of life and be ready to answer any question that is asked of me.  By March 2019, I'll be ready.

When Wrongs Rise!

A false witness will perish, but a careful listener will testify successfully. The wicked put up a bold front but the upright give thought to their ways. There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord. Proverbs 21: 28-31 NIV
The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper. Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe. Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses. When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding; but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive. Proverbs 28:25-28 NIV
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. James 3:13-17 NIV
There is no time in history in which wrongs committed did not surface for all to see. Since there is nothing new under the sun, we can expect the wrongs committed now and in the 2016 election to rise to the surface for all to see and understand how we came to be in this place of chaos and disorder.

The Word from James says it best; "where there is envy and selfish ambition, we'll find disorder and every evil practice." Think about that for a moment.

Who has benefitted from the 2016 election? Who is reversing policies that protected the consumer and the poor? Who has installed family members in the White House who are using their positions to enrich their bank accounts? Who hated President Obama so much they are constantly trying to outdo or undo everything President Obama did for the sake of all Americans? Who has stirred up hate and conflict with their rhetoric and promotion of violence? Who has "removed the hate groups" from the terror watch and eased gun restrictions so the hate groups can harm themselves--in readiness for the coup to take over the government, demolishing democracy? Who indeed is about to reap what they have sown?

It is truly unfortunate that people's lives were put at risk when the shooting that occurred in Virginia on yesterday and it's equally unfortunate that the shooter apparently had his sights set on Republicans. I'm not condoning violence in any form and I'm praying for the victims as well as the family of the shooter. But this is the result of frustration--brought about by a lack of trust in the current leadership and those in Congress. None of the policies under discussion will benefit the poor and the needy and in deed will cause them more harm. I don't know if this is the reason the shooter pulled the trigger; this is only speculation on my part. When people are frustrated beyond measure and can get no relief from a government that is supposed to consider all Americans, they take their frustration and desperation out on others--causing even more problems.

I pray the shooting incident will lead to Congressional Accord between the parties and they will work together to solve our nation's problems and come up with solutions that will benefit all, not just the rich. It should not matter which part holds the majority in Congress if they all care about all Americans--compromise should be possible and even mandated to ensure democracy works in this country.

Where there is no clear leadership (as we have seen for the past six months), militia groups rise and thrive creating even more discord as they perpetuate the promotion of fear, hate, and violence. I would hope that we can prevent this from rising to a level of no-return but all of us, must be vigilant and wise in all we do. Leadership in positions of authority is needed to keep this country on the right track and that means we must vote--exercising wisdom.

I'm counting on wisdom from above to guide all in 2020 as I seek the presidency, providing a strong, clear voice that advocates for all Everyday Americans.

Is Solomon Speaking To Us Now?

Out in the open wisdom calls aloud; she raises her voice in the public square; on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech: How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings, But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you--when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways, and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm. The question--is Solomon speaking to us now, can be answered quite literally if we're honest about what we see on a daily basis.

The first chapter in Proverbs is dedicated to understanding the role of wisdom and what happens when we don't exercise wisdom. This segment--referenced above--puts us--all Believers in a position to see why America is in the shape it is in--and possibly the world.

Let me break this down a little further--when we--those who call themselves Christians--lie on God, we end up with the only possible consequence of our lying--God ignoring us and allows the calamities of our own rebellion to overtake us. God is not mocked nor deceived by lying tongues, but He will allow our lies to make fools of us. Though I have categorically denied that God chose trump to be president of the United States, I have to include myself in the throng of Believers--who didn't do enough to persuade others that God does not intervene in our choices. He allows us to make the choices and allows us to handle the consequences of our actions.

What I see in the constantly unfolding events in the political arena and the rise of hatred in the land is the result of wickedness and lies promoted by those who claim to know God. Let me say this again (and I'll probably say it often)--GOD IS PRO-CHOICE! He honors and choices and allows us to deal with the results--in every area of our lives--not just as it pertains to abortion, elections, marriage--but in everything.

When Christian Believers (the Evangelicals who lied) acknowledge that God allows us choices, then perhaps, they can also begin to repent and rescind the notion that trump was God's choice--unless they are totally blinded by hate and bigotry and want to see the chaos continue.

I'm no more perfect than any other, but I do accept my limitations and acknowledge them. I depend upon my relationship with God to do the right thing at all times, but when I stray, He won't pull me back unless I submit to His pull. That's how He operates--with our submission to Him. He does not coerce, bully or bribe us to do anything; nor does He belittle or humiliate us--we do that on our own when we refuse to hear Him and obey.

At all times--we must speak truth whether we agree with truth or not--because truth will set us free from all the stupidity we now see. Truth can and will come through various people--both Republicans and Democrats (Conservatives and Liberals), but we must be open to hearing it and acting upon it or we'll cease to exist as a nation since truth has surfaced, the Russian interference into our election and the erosion of our democracy was planned years ago. They deliberately established relationships with those who--out of their greed and need for power--were easily influenced and duped into doing their will--not God's.

All of this is easily discovered with a little time taken to research it, so there is no need for anyone to just take my word for it. Once research is undertaken and truth is known, what should we do with it?
I've known the truth all along and have my blogs to verify what I've been saying and now I implore all who know truth to assert themselves into the throng of existing chaos and confusion and promote truth--if we don't change direction soon, we will no longer be the United States of America--a sovereign nation, but under the command of the Russians.

Now, can we honestly answer the question, "Is God talking to us?" Yes, because He is and will continue to speak to us through His Word and through Holy Spirit, if we're willing to listen. If we don't listen, we have only ourselves to blame for the calamities that will overwhelm us. As a society of civilized people, we can no longer allow ideologies and emotions to rule us; we must develop critical thinking skills and know how to determine when sources are credible or not--facts and evidence matters. Any news source that promotes hatred of anyone for any reason--is not a credible source of information; it will be biased based upon the hatred they promote. 

Therefore, I beseech every reader to reflect upon their relationship with God and know His truth and make all decisions pertaining to life and living upon that fact--proven through His Word.

In 2020, remember maintaining our democracy will depend upon all those who seek truth and promote it, rather than fuel ideological beliefs that have no foundation in truth according to God's Word. I'm counting on the wisdom of God to lead us all in turning away the whirlwind that will overtake us if we don't act. If we actively #resist the devil, and submit to God, we will know victory!

Are We Satisfied?

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. A dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool. When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. Do not let your mouth lead you into sin. And do not protest to the temple messenger, "My vow was a mistake." Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands? Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore fear God. If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still. The increase from the land is taken by all; the king himself profits from the fields. Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes upon them? A Message!

I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the presence of the wicked.” When you rebuke and discipline anyone for their sin, you consume their wealth like a moth--surely everyone is but a breath. Hear my prayer, Lord, listen to my cry for help; do not be deaf to my weeping. I dwell with you as a foreigner, as a stranger, as all my ancestors were. Look away from me, that I may enjoy life again before I depart and am no more." Psalm 39:1, 11-13 NIV
This is a message--if we read the entire Psalm--all need to heed and use when we are up against situations over which we have no control.

If we never acknowledge where we are and how we've missed the mark and seek God's forgiveness and accept the consequences of our actions, we will never be in position to receive all He has for us. The message--live according to The Word--loving all--will keep us from falling far from Him.

If we dared to live our lives--removing the stench of hatred and bigotry-we would all profit from loving one another.

This then is a message we should share--functioning in life with integrity and honor, never concerning ourselves about what others may discover because of the way we live our lives in total transparency. Nothing hidden--nothing to shame or embarrass us.

Please pass along the message to those in the White House so the rest of us, Everyday Americans don't have be ashamed to be Americans.

Let's Do It God's Way!

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions.  Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:1-10 NIV
These are the times that some men seek and some attempt to avoid at all costs. The uncertainty of a nation is always a time that gives us pause to think about how it will all end.

This is not a doomsday prophecy, but rather an attempt to convince all reading that we, as a nation, really need to think about all we hear and read in the news. There is a crisis brewing in this nation and it's not going to be solved with a special prosecutor (though that will help expedite truth where the White House is concerned). The only way the ills of this nation will be solved is by every American accepting every other American as a human being with feelings and rights as a human being. The real problem is those who think they are superior over others and treat them as though they are door mats.

If we could ever get beyond the "labeling" that most feel we must acknowledge, life would be so much simpler. We don't have to carry the labels of White American, Black American, Red American, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Straight, Gay or any other label. Let's look in the mirror and see a human being--worthy of love and respect and fair and equitable treatment in any and every venue in this land.

Let's learn to treat each other respectfully--even when we disagree--and with compassion, knowing how to love unconditionally, even the unlovable. If we are ever going to see a change in this country for the better, we must stop enabling stupidity and start encouraging love of the human race. This is the only race we have (for the moment).

My platform is to be in a position to serve the needs of all Everyday Americans--not just one segregated group, but all Americans. And with the support of other Everyday Americans, we can hope to see change in 2020 and pray that change will continue. 

I am convinced that when we do things God's way, we cannot fail and there can be no mistakes made. Loving one another is never a mistake and love will make a way to overcome hatred when we allow love to guide us in all we do.
