Let's Be Honest!

Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:13-21 NIV
What the world needs now--is love--God's love--overflowing the banks of our hearts, flooding our souls, saturating every fiber of our beings until all hate and fear is washed away.

But before that can happen, we must be honest with ourselves and everyone else.
There is brewing--just below the surface--a volcanic eruption of hate and when it spills over onto the masses, we will witness such carnage as we've never seen--unless we are honest about where we are--our attitudes--towards other human beings.

We cannot ignore the hatred that exists towards others: White people hating black people, hating Native Americans, Black people hating white people and black people, White people hating White people--all people hating anyone--red, yellow, brown, black or white it does not matter--what the color of our skin is--we are all precious in God's sight!

Where there is hate--LOVE cannot reign in the hearts of people, for if we have not received His love, we have no love to give. And anyone--absolutely anyone--hiding behind any banner--Christian, KKK, law enforcement, mothers, fathers, grandparents--teachers, judges, politicians, political candidates--anyone who promotes hate is guilty of the blood flowing from inciting the masses. They are guilty and should be ashamed of themselves for their promotion of hatred--building walls of division instead of bridges for relationships--and for every person that is grieving the loss of a loved one because of someone else instigating the hatred--you, too should grieve--for you have grieved Holy Spirit by not obeying Him.

If this sounds like a rant--against hatred--so be it. I'm tired of so-called Christians supporting those who promote hatred and fear. I'm tired of so-called Christians, sitting idly by doing nothing, but quoting scriptures when they don't apply them on a daily basis. I'm tired of so-called Christian leaders supporting fear-mongering instead of promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  We will never win people to Christ by creating an atmosphere of fear and hatred and the promotion of bigotry--it is love that overcomes the evil that pervades the land.

Can we honestly say--without hesitation or doubt--that we are capable of loving all people--no matter their circumstances or positions in life; no matter what color their skin or are we doomed to suffer the consequences of our inability to love--unconditionally?

Let's be honest with ourselves and with others. God already knows the truth. Then, after we admit our shortcomings to live--promoting peace and harmony--let's repent, get off our behinds and do something about it--show somebody who looks differently than we do, thinks differently than we do --and pour on the love. Can we do that?

Until We Return to The Lord, We Will Weep!

“I myself said, “ ‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me. But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,” declares The Lord. A cry is heard on the barren heights, the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel, because they have perverted their ways and have forgotten the LORD their God. “Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.” “Yes, we will come to you, for you are the LORD our God. Jeremiah 3:19-22 NIV
In the wake of sadness because of the hatred and violence across the land, we must realize that nothing is a surprise to God. Since the days of the prophets (the true prophets), we have been warned that if we willing forsake God's ways, our crying would be heard from every corner. And here we are--crying--foul, injustice, hatred, bigotry--and souls are lost because we have turned from God.

Not all of us are guilty of perpetuating violence and hatred, but there are so many who are that the most the rest of us can is to pray--appealing to God's merciful nature--while submitting to His Ways and interceding for all who turned from Him.

I don't know of any one person who would celebrate the lives lost--through gun violence--and yet--our legislators would rather spend time and money on a witch hunt--simply to hinder a person from being elected. It would appear to me--and I'm not serving in Washington--that it would take far less time to legislate sensible gun-control, provide the financial assistance for law enforcement agencies to train personnel not to overreact in situations than it has taken investigating Hillary Clinton. And they think--all the pointless time and money spent--tax payer money--is money well spent! How sad for our country--we have elected leaders who are spending more time and money promoting their agenda than in serving the needs of the people.

Personally, I think every person who has been sitting on their thumbs, refusing to work for the people--should be removed from office and they certainly should not be paid. If anyone else--hired to do a job refused to do it--they would be fired, so it's time to fire the obstructionists legislators and hire those will work for the people--not a party.

Until we get things right with God--in our own lives, in our communities and exercise common sense (exercising Godly Wisdom) when electing officials who make decisions, we will continue to hear the cries of those weeping, and we will continue to see the violence because without God guiding us--love is swept aside so hate reigns.

There are some who think we'll be brought to our knees if Hillary wins the election and there are some who know we'll be brought to fall on our faces, prostrate--seeking God's grace and mercy if Trump wins. We have seen in the past how fearmongering results in foolishness with a president who started a war--over misinformation--and the number of lives lost because of it and the trillions of debt incurred behind it. I knew then, if Bush won the second term, we'd be praying--like never before.  I wasn't wrong, then and I'm not wrong now. We need a leader who cares about the people--all of us--regardless of our skin color, religious affiliations, ethnicity or gender--every human being in America and knows how to love--unconditionally.

Lord, forgive us and give us a heart of flesh, filled with a desire to please You and not people so love will overflow, drowning the hate and bigotry. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen!

Only Love Combats Evil!

Until we understand how important it is to love others--we will always cringe when we hear the news of another shooting--compelled by hate.

If we do not understand God's unconditional love and refuse to receive it, we are unable to love others, for we cannot give what we do not have.

Unconditional love--loves regardless of what others look like, how they think or what they do. Unconditional love does not condone sin or evil, but loves beyond it. When we know Love--for God is Love--we correct those who need correction and chastise those who need it--out of love--not hatefulness.

Parents should love their children unconditionally, but compel them to adhere to rules established to protect them and help them to become productive, responsible adults. When children are not corrected and allowed to think they should have everything they want, they become spoiled brats, prone to throwing tantrums in order to get their way. If the behavior is not corrected, they become bratty adults who throw tantrums when things don't go their way.

Husbands and wives should love each other (beyond lust)--no matter what--committed to the relationship and determined to do what is right for each other and the rest of the family.

Siblings should love one another and support each other in all things that are right and honest.
Those who love The Lord should never meet a stranger even though some strangers do not know how to love.

We should all be filled with compassion when we see injustice and sorrow in others. If we are filled with love, we are able to allow that love to overflow onto others without hatred or bigotry and certainly without fearmongering since where there is love--fear cannot dwell.

When are we--as human beings--going to figure it out? Hate is not overcome with more hate; only love can combat evil and turn things around for good.

For the sake of our children's future--and our present--please--let us learn to love--receiving God's love and allowing His love to overflow--from us to others and stop the violence!

Do You Hear Us, Lord?

How long, LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted." Habakkuk 1:2-4 NIV
This first prayer by the prophet, reminds me of where some of us might feel we are today. For those of us who have been praying, relentlessly, and see nothing on the surface of things changing, we (or at least I do) tend to wonder if God is hearing us.

But then as we look at the rest of this passage and see God's response, we must also wonder if God is not doing the same thing now, as He allowed then. That is, allowing plans for massive destruction by those who hate all of God's people because God's people won't obey Him. Perhaps, now as it was then--we'll have to be held captive by truly hateful people in order for God to get our attention!

When destruction comes--we have only ourselves to blame. We deliberately exchanged the lie of the enemy for God's Truth and made the lie a priority by which men live rather than God's Truth. As since the lie--streaming from the top (our President)  flows over the people and is choking God's Truth--cutting off the oxygen supply needed for brain cells to function--we are left with mindless laws that promote and encourage living in opposition to God's Word. There is no justice with the Supreme Court Justices and all will have to stand before God and give an account of their actions. 
And since we are a nation that is not concerned with justice for all--we will be subjected to the justice exercised by the ungodly.

Therefore, at every turn, we see Believers belittled and their rights ignored for the satisfaction of the few--ungodly--who hope to pervert the entire nation so they can pacify the lusts of their flesh. When will all the ungodliness cease and people come to their senses before it's too late? Or is it already too late? With the blustering buffoonery we see campaigning to become president and the hatred and bigotry displayed against entire groups of people, what has this nation caved to doing? Our so-called political correctness has opened the door for disaster and those dastardly demons are laughing their butts off at our expense.

Lord, You have promised that the fervent, never-ending prayers of the righteous accomplish much and we are waiting--to see the fruit of our prayers yield--peace, love, and an end to violence and hatred exhibited by so many. Create in the hearts of all those who oppose You, a desire to please You and a willingness to repent of all things that are not like You. We know You hear and answer prayer and we wait to see the majestic results  so all will know--You and You alone are God!

Think First, Then Do!

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8,9 NIV
Yesterday, I shared a photo (below) with Donald Duck pondering, "I wonder if common sense will ever make a comeback." Common sense seems to have disappeared when we look at how things unfold in the media. It makes one wonder if common sense even exists anymore.

Yet, here we read Paul's admonition-having been around for centuries, but not many heed what he says. "Think" about the right and good things and then whatever we learn, put it into practice. When will the God of peace be with us? The God of peace will be with us when we think about doing good and right things. This is why there is so much violence and hatred in the land because no one is thinking about the good and right things. If people are not willing to think, common sense won't have a chance to survive.

Of course, there will be those who have a differing opinion about how to solve our societal dilemmas, but I'm a strong proponent of doing things God's way! If we learn to think first--before we do anything--and think beyond the moment, we could change the atmosphere of violence and hatred and know peace in the land.

Holy Spirit Control!

"Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:29-32 NKJV)

Whenever we hear foul-mouthed conversations in which every other word is profanity, we know Holy Spirit is not governing the person using the profanity. Whenever we see the end results of raging tempers--violence and death--we know Holy Spirit is not governing the person or persons involved. And usually, when one person demonstrates a lack of self-control, they engage or ignite the same type of reaction in others. The problem--people are too reliant upon their own self-control instead of allowing Holy Spirit to control what they say and do.

Submitting our thought-life and our tongues to Holy Spirit is not easy, but it is definitely a better path to take than depending upon our ability to control anything. What does it mean to submit our thought-life? It means that we stop thinking the thoughts that lead us astray. If the enemy tries to plant a thought in our minds that is not honoring God, we submit our response to Holy Spirit and allow Him to replace those thoughts with thoughts of righteousness.

Since most of us are fighting a constant battle with self-control, we are yet a work-in-progress. We have buttons that can be pushed and when we allow others to push them, we forget who we are and whose we are--to let others know, we are not a doormat. But do we really have to let others know anything other than we belong to God?

When we're attacked--verbally--we don't need to respond, but under stressful situations when frustration and agitation get in the way, we engage and the heat rises, sparking fires that sometimes rage out of control.

When we're attacked--physically--we have a right to defend ourselves (though some would argue this) and our families. We do not have a right to instigate foolishness that embroils others into "never-ending feuds" that do nothing but create hostile environments for all. This is especially true for kids who tend to get caught up in stupidity. If a brother or sister starts a fight with someone else--let them handle on their own. If more than one person attacks a sibling, then by all means, we should do our best to protect them.

However, when people do stupid--no matter who it is--family, friends and neighbors should stay out of the fray. I've seen entire neighborhoods destroyed because of stupid people who thought they had a right to treat people any way they wanted to treat them and then expect no response by those who are harmed. Those attacked call in reinforcements to counter the action and the feud mushrooms--out of control until someone ends up dead.

When Holy Spirit is "allowed" to control our thoughts--we don't think stupid-we think pleasing God. When our thought-life is controlled by Holy Spirit, then our tongues speak those things that build, encourage, and edify others. But Holy Spirit has to be allowed to control--He will not force us to do anything, and will allow us to think, say, or do anything we want to do. Of course when we do things that grieve Him, most of us know we need to repent, back up and give Him control so we don't bring shame upon ourselves and displease God.

Life would be so much better for everyone, all over the world, if we would just allow Holy Spirit to be in control of our lives.

Divided Loyalties!

"But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do." (James 1:6-8 NLT)

When we ask Him for what? Wisdom and anything else we need, when we ask in faith, we shall have it. But we cannot waver in our faith that He will do it because if we do--we allow doubt to enter and undermine faith and doubt will negate the faith to which God responds. James, in his letter, is simply reiterating what Jesus told the disciples about prayer. He told them when we ask in faith--doubting nothing--whatever we ask for, we shall have it.

For those who criticize others for having faith in what they do not see--get over it. When we speak--in faith--those things we are believing God for--we are going to see them in His timing as long as we do not allow the "world's way of thinking" to interfere with our faith. When we try to have faith in God and then allow the "world" to influence how we think--we have divided our loyalties and God says--we can expect "nothing" from Him.

Is this why you have not received what you have been asking for? Is your loyalty divided between God and the world?

God says, "Ask and it will be given" when we ask in faith. The world says, "Why are you expecting anything from someone invisible?"

One of the reasons why the world does not understand "our faith" is because we do not understand and exercise our faith in the manner that God tells us. Faith in Him does not waver--no matter what--whether what we ask for comes immediately or is delayed--the faith for those things we ask--remains in Him!  But the moment we start listening to others who influence doubt--we might as well stop thinking that God will do anything because He will not respond to doubt!

Whatever it is we are expecting from God--salvation for loved ones--no matter how "they" act--keep believing; financial security--no matter what our bank account says--keep believing; peace in the world--no matter how violent people get under the influence of the enemy--keep believing; for love to overflow in the hearts of all--no matter how much hatred you see--keep believing. If we ever stop having faith in God--we will never see those things for which we ask. Faith that--remains immovable in the face of adversity--can overcome anything and move mountains as long as doubt--never creeps into the situation or our minds to deter us.

Our loyalties belong to God and our faith should be in Him and Him alone--to guide us in all we must do to see faith for what we ask, manifest itself!

Who is it from?

God, the Father, and Jesus Christ!

Now!

What Do We Have?

When do we have it?

NOW!

Now that we know what we have and from whom we have it, why can't we live what we say we believe? If we know we have grace, mercy, and peace as we CONTINUE to live in God's Truth and in His love--why is there so much hatred and violence in the earth? Do we really know what we have with Jesus governing our lives? If we do--let's act like it and encourage others to receive His grace--unmerited favor for we cannot earn it, His mercy--for not giving us what we truly deserve, and His peace--that surpasses all understanding and provides an environment where hatred cannot exist.

Why are waiting for peace when we already have it? We just need to exercise living in truth and love!

An Open Prayer For All!

"But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love" (I John 4:8 NLT).

If we say we love God, we should know how to love others--not hate.
When we allow hate to replace love in our hearts, we do not honor God.
For all who hate-others and God--this prayer is for you!

Father, in the name of Jesus,
I pray that You will move upon hearts today
Speaking love, In a very special way.
I pray for those who hate others because of political affiliations.
I pray for those who hate others because of ethnic origins and race.
I pray for those who hate others because they are gay or straight.
I pray for those who hate teachers, preachers, accountants, and lawyers,
And any other career or skill set they do not have.
I pray for those who hate because of their feelings of superiority about themselves,
And for those who hate because of their feelings of inferiority against themselves.
I pray for those who hate others because they are Muslim or Christian,
Catholic, Jew, Gentile, Buddhist, Baptist, Pentecostal, or whatever faith they proclaim.
I pray for those who hate because of some are male or female.
I pray for those who hate children and women, men and themselves.
I pray for those who hate redheads, blondes, brunettes, and raven-haired,
For those who hate others because they have straight, curly, kinky hair, long hair, short, and no hair.
I pray for those who hate others because of their height or girth, their humor or lack of one
I pray for those who hate because some have too many children and some have none.
I pray for those who hate all who don't agree with them and for those who hate because they cannot agree with anyone.
I pray for those who disdain others because of their imperfections and flaws
Not seeing themselves because if they did, they would see and know their own imperfectness.
I pray for those who hate any living thing because so much hatred abides within their heart.
Lord, I ask You to cleanse the hatred from their hearts, and replace it with the abundance of love
You give to all who will receive it and allow it to overflow from them onto others.
Lord, for when You fill hearts with Love, and we learn to Love like You love,
The violence will cease and we can all live in peace.
All this I ask and believe we will receive it in the name of Jesus,
And according to Your Word, whatever we ask in Your Son's name will be given.
I thank You for hearing and answering this prayer and all prayers of those who know and love You!

When We See This!

"When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes" (Isaiah 66:14 NIV).

The thirteenth verse of scripture states that, "The Lord comfort like a mother" (paraphrased) and all will see this. Moving on to the next verse, we are told what will happen when we see this.

Our hearts will rejoice--overflowing with joy.

We will flourish like grass--keep increasing year after year and look good (if well-kept and cared for).

Everyone will know that the hand of The Lord guides us and keeps us safe from harm and directs our success.

And...His enemies--those who openly oppose Him--deny His existence and disobey His Word--shall know His fury!

I don't know about you, but I plan to remain His child and receive His comfort and never, ever become one His enemies!

When we know we are doing the right thing for all the right reasons--we can expect to see His blessings in our lives. But for those who choose not to do what is right, they too can expect--to see His fury.

When I look at our society--on a global level--I cannot help but wonder whether some of the extreme weather conditions we see are the result of His fury--against those who oppose Him. Now, notice I did not say that the weather is a result of His displeasure; I said, I wonder.

No matter what anyone thinks or wonders-we only have to look back at history to understand how God operates--when sin is in the atmosphere, it tends to shake things up and everyone not willing to change their ways--creates an environment that leads to destruction--of many!

So, when we see--the violence that escalates in countries, nation against nation, brother against brother, parents against children and children against parents, disrespect of self and others of such magnitude that children could not possibly understand moral ethics when they do not see any--from anyone--especially those in the public arena. When we see the changes in the environment that threaten the very existence of whole communities, do we understand why or do we just continue to accept sin as a way of life and do nothing to preserve humanity?

The choice is ours--we can receive His comfort or His fury. What are we going to see?
When we see the need to honor and respect--The One who created all things and without whom, nothing was ever created, we will see His comfort--love, mercy, grace and changes in the atmosphere--peace in the land--confirming and justifying our faith in Him.

Generational Recipient of Love!

"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments" (Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV).

God is keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who "love Him and keep His commandments." I'm in the fold of the thousand generations! How do I know? I love Him and love others--no matter what--fulfilling the commandments of love!

Some might say, "Yeah, right; sure you are!" How can anyone love everyone with so much hatred in the world?

This is how I do it: I have learned to love me, first--doing all the things that would not cause me harm, but doing those things that would lead to greater physical health and peace of mind. After I read God's Word, studied and meditated upon it, and realized how much He loved me, I didn't want His love to be squandered or unappreciated so I changed my way of living along with my attitude towards people. 

The more I discovered about how great a love He has for me, the more I loved Him. Now, I try always to do those things that please Him, so He will know without a doubt, how much I love Him.
Because I willingly received His love, I have an abundance of love overflowing, seeking those who will receive love from me. It's not easy! Some people are filled with so much hate for self, God and others, they miss seeing love (not lust) when it is presented to them. For these, I love them enough to pray for them--praying they will receive God's love and learn to love self and others. For those who receive the love, I encourage, however I can--to always seek God first, have faith in Him, and know that they are loved, no matter what event attempts to deter them from loving.

Do I like everyone I love? Absolutely not! God does not always like the things we do, but He never stops loving us. I don't always like the things my children or grandchildren do, but I never stop loving them. The same is true of people I know and those I don't know (globally). I know how to love whether I like a person or not. Again, when I see problems, I pray--for wisdom in rectifying a situation and the courage to get it done. Telling people the truth when they do not want to hear it, takes courage and wisdom and I always try to hear God before I do or say anything.

It's not too late to become a generational recipient of love--just learn to love God and keep His commandments--the commandments to love Him and others.
