Confident In Our Reward

"And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming" (I John 2:28).

When Jesus returns, how confident are you that you will be one of those who are "caught up" with them (the dead who rose first) to be with the Lord for all eternity?

The admonition by John is for us to "live The Word" so that when He returns, we won't have to worry about whether we'll make it or not.  We have to make sure that we can withstand the judgment that will come when we stand before God and that confidence can only come when we "know" (not believe) that we have lived according to God's Word and we need not be ashamed.  We can stand before God, confident of His appraisal of how we did with the work He gave us to do.  When we have completed the work assigned us, and to the glory of God, we can expect to hear Him say, "well done" my child.

Of course, if we haven't done everything He assigned us to do, we may want to re-think what we're doing, right now--while we yet have a chance.

Get it right, children of the Most High!  Don't be rebellious and get punished; live to please our Daddy and receive His very best!
