Self-Control!

"People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—" (2 Timothy 3:2-4 NIV).

In the last days (begins verse 1) there will be terrible times--times in which people who have not acknowledged God, will not study His Word, will not hear Him, will not obey Him, will become--all of these things.

Their priorities will be greed--getting all the money they can amass by any means necessary, no matter how it may impact others.

They will brag about how they cheat and undermine others--bully others into espionage of all sorts in order to gain the upper-hand, financially over others.

They will abuse the power of their positions at home, in business, in communities, and in the government.

They will start by being disobedient to parents because they did not understand that honoring "mother and father" would guarantee them long life and then move out into society with the same spirit, defying spiritual and natural laws to do what they want to do.

They will be unholy--doing all things against God because their god is Satan.

They will be without love because they have never accepted God's love and they cannot truly love themselves--they are empty and void of compassion for others and they are the only people who matter.

They will hold grudges against others and never forgive even though they are in need of forgiveness themselves.

They will lie and cheat to get what they want without regard to the destruction that occurs along the path they take.

They have never learned to control themselves and function on feelings rather than common sense, they allow negative emotions and thoughts to guide their every move which leads them to becoming brutish--manglers of human beings and murderers without flinching, creating chaos and confusion wherever they go and yet they do not see themselves as they are--devoid of human emotions and ability to interact appropriately with others.

They are more inclined to give into feelings and those negative thoughts that intensify into unbridled lust and they will do anything to gratify the desire.

Carnal, fleshy pleasures mean more to them than loving God and living according to His Word because they lack self-control and do not want to live an orderly life.

These are the people who will not control their thoughts, their mouths or their deeds. They think evil thoughts and then plot to carry them out--they cuss at the drop of a pin and then think it's their right to infringe upon the rights of others. They are disorderly every where they go--loud and obnoxious--foul-mouthed and dangerous.

They understand "control" when they find themselves locked into situations where others are controlling them--jails, prisons, gangs, mobs.

They do not understand that although they may be locked up or locked into situations; they are never locked out of God's love--if they are willing to receive it.

These indeed are the last days. The writing is on the walls of society all over the world. What are we--who understand--going to do about it?

Yield Not To Temptation!

"When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;" (James 1:13 NIV).

And then James goes on to say that we are tempted by our own lusts (evil desires) and when one yields to the temptation, they yield to sin.

Some years ago, Flip Wilson used the phrase, " the devil made me do it" in his comic routine.  Many thought this was funny, especially within the context used. However, it is misleading. The devil does not make anyone do anything, any more than God will make anyone do anything. The devil tempts people to do evil and because they have evil desires, they give in to the temptation.

The enemy uses people to tempt others to land into the lake of fire with him. He influences people to murder, molest, abduct, coerce, mangle, manipulate, lie, cheat, steal, cuss, and commit all manner of disastrous acts that lead people deeper into the pit of no return. But they could not be tempted if the desire to do those things were not already present. Those desires begin with thoughts and if the thoughts are not changed, rapidly, they intensify until the thoughts are acted upon and havoc reigns.

If we want to avoid being tempted--by anything or anyone, we have to change our thought patterns before they become acts that cannot be reversed.

Some might say--they are stronger than that--they don't have to give in. I would encourage all to reflect upon the world events, historically, and recently, that have led to escalated violence and people being killed. All of the acts--began with a thought and thoughts ran rampant--completely unchecked until they became acts.

For change to occur in the world--it must begin with change in every individual's way of thinking--in a positive manner so we can all live in peace, without the threat of continual violence.

Perhaps, we should all lobby legislators to change the way they think--putting people first--above their own personal agendas. And then we should pray--in the privacy of homes and other personal space--and then "out loud" so the enemy will know what we're doing and put him on notice.

Don't allow the evil thoughts and desires to become acts of disaster and then try to claim--God tempted you to do it. He did not. The Word from God will only encourage us to live according to what God says--so we can live to see the promises fulfilled in our lives and to see our future--a future to prosper us and not harm us.

The devil doesn't do anything he was not created to do--and neither should we. We were created to be a praise unto our God and to give Him glory. Let's do it!

Different Kinds of Trees!

"Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit" (Matthew 7:17 NIV).

There are different kinds of fruit, different kinds of vegetables, different kinds of flowers and different kinds of trees. Good trees--those who are nourished and get all they need to produce good fruit, usually produces good fruit. Bad trees--those who lack appropriate care and nourishment, water, sunlight, pruning, and watching, may produce withered, dried out fruit, abnormal sized fruit, or no fruit at all.

Every thing that grows--including people--need appropriate nourishment, pruning, and watching. We need the love of parents who know how to be parents. We need appropriate environments in which our health will not be impaired or our growth stunted. And we need pruning--the cutting away of all the stuff that will not help us mature as reasonable human beings. It is the pruning that most dislike and rebel against.

The Word of God prunes--reveals to us all that is hurtful to our growth and cuts it away to make room for healthier thoughts, ideas, and actions. Those who rebel against the Word, hold onto all the stuff that hinders growth and maturity and then they get mad at the world because they do dumb stuff and wonder why they can never get anywhere. These are the bad trees.

The good trees--patiently endure the scraping and cutting away of all those things that will hinder growth and they get a chance to see the abundance of productivity that results as the cutting away of the old and making room for the new. They will usually have a harvest of growth that leads to production of other harvests. One plants, one waters, and God gives the increase.

I recently watched a neighbor prune branches of one of his peach trees and cut off those that were not producing edible fruit. Last year, they only grew to the size of a walnut. At the beginning of this spring, only a few leaves blossomed. After his pruning away all the "dead" stuff, leaves are all over the place and I'm sure, the peaces will be much bigger, producing good fruit.

Now, considering all that was said, which kind of tree of are you?

Lord Jesus, help us to endure the pruning and cutting away of all the dead stuff in us, making room for the new growth so we can be productive in every area of our lives, to Your glory!

Why We Do What We Do!

If no one is writing, how will anyone read--anything?  If no one can read, what will happen to communication skills? Do we have what it takes to sustain a literate society? I believe we do as long as writers write and readers read.

Variety--is not just the spice for living--it is what makes for good writing and immeasurable audiences who enjoy what is written.

Celebrate!

"Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed" (Nahum 1:15 NIV).

For all who think that we should not "celebrate" certain events in our lives--The Word gives us the right to celebrate "our" festivals. That means that we can have "festivals" that are not necessarily determined to be the "festivals of the Lord" as enumerated in the various ordinances.

Today, we can hear the chains breaking as the shackles fall--we are released from the bondage of thinking we cannot celebrate--birthdays, holidays, and other commemorative events. If we are spiritual Judah--a tribe who praises The Lord at all times--we have no need to slink away from celebrating the births of loved ones or any other of "our" festivals that do not dishonor God.

We also have a hope--that if we continue to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ--we will have peace because we will no longer need to be concerned with the wicked who shall be no more!

The wicked are those who "refuse to acknowledge God" and choose to live a life that is totally immersed with selfishness. The wicked are not concerned with justice and lawfulness; they are consumed with lawlessness and wanton destruction of everything that is of God!

If all who proclaim to believe and trust God would share the Gospel of Jesus Christ--what a wonderful world we would have to abide in peace. If all who proclaim to believe and trust God would release their fears of rejection and apathy--more people would have an opportunity to "see" what an awesome God we serve! If all who proclaim to believe and trust God would love all with whom they come into contact--the world would know love and not hate.

In Christ--there are no denominations or separate religions--we are all one in Christ Jesus when we believe and trust God in all our ways and acknowledge Him in all we do.

When we--who say we know and have a relationship with God--know we have done all we can to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ--we can rest assured that we have reason to celebrate and no need to fear retribution from God because we do. Celebrate! It's time for us to let the world know--who we are and how much God loves!

Consider Your Ways!

"Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways" (Haggai 1:5).

People are often amazed at the senseless violence, loss of life, destruction of families, and crimes of such magnitude that all we can do is simply shake our heads.

Inconsiderate people are incapable of thinking beyond the moment or about how their actions impact others. We see it all the time. Carelessness with campfires or even cigarette smoking--fires burning out of control, destroying property, taking lives, and ruining memories. Inconsiderate people drink and drive with no other thought other than to make themselves "feel good" when in actuality, they only feel worse. These people cause accidents-maiming and killing--and some never stop drinking and driving.

Inconsiderate people speed through neighborhoods--with no thought of children or others in wheelchairs or the elderly who cannot move as fast as they used to move. They hit people with cars and run from the scene like the cowards they really are. The cowards often leave people dead or dying and they do not care. They gave no thought to their actions.

Inconsiderate people are often greedy people who will stop at nothing to obtain what they want by any means. They rob people at gunpoint, with shovels, with knives, with threatening notes in banks and stores and care not one wit about how actions will leave a life time of tragedy in their wake.

Inconsiderate people think everyone around them wants to hear their loud, crass, raunchy music--so they play it loud enough to shake windows and interfere with other drivers and their ability to hear what is going on around them.

Inconsiderate people play pranks without thinking about all the possible consequences and some pranks have led to the death of people.

Inconsiderate people think the world evolves around them and therefore they have a right to do whatever they want to do, whenever they want to do it and then they complain when they have to deal with the consequences of their actions. They have never learned to "consider their ways."

If we want to see a change in the world, we must begin in our homes and learn to be considerate of others in all we do. Loving others will bring about consideration because we would do not harm those we love. Loving others leads to considering others above ourselves. So the lack of consideration demonstrates a lack of love among many. If we cannot love self, we cannot love others. Consider your ways--do your actions demonstrate love or do they demonstrate total inconsideration regarding others. Think-love-consider all so we can live in peace and harmony and families won't have to mourn the loss of loved ones.

The Greatest Commandments!

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:30,31 NIV)

So many people concern themselves with the commandments given to Moses upon the mountain that they forget how Jesus summarized them into two--which should be easier to remember, but do we?

The first--Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength--If we truly love God--with all of our being and He is the focus of our lives--we live to please Him--doing all He has put into our hearts to do.

The second--Love your neighbor as yourself--if we loved our neighbors (all those around us)--as ourselves, could we hate, steal, lie, or kill anyone?  When we do these things--is it an indicator that we do not love self?

If we really stopped to think about what we do and how we do it--we would have greater insight as to who we really are and we might even see a need to change. When we treat ourselves better, we'll treat others better.

Love--such a simple command and yet--such a hard one to do. If we love God, we would take care of the needs of the poor and defenseless. If we love others--there would be no poor and defenseless--God knows! Think about it!

And while you're thinking about it--remember those who have loved us and did not even know us in their service to their country to defend our rights and freedoms as a nation, who for the most part--believes in God!

Learning to love is the greatest response we could ever give to God and others. Let's do it!

What Faith Does!

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1 NIV).

Notice that this verse says-"faith is" not what faith does. Our faith does not stop bad things from happening to us--"it sustains us through the event" keeping us from being defeated by the event.

Many have asked why bad things happen to good people--or better yet--to Believers and many have attempted to explain the rationale. Actually, the reasoning is as simple as this-Satan doesn't have to tempt those already following him; he knows who they are. His job is to discourage those who have faith in God and tempt them to believe that our faith is in vain.

How many times do we "see" the remarks that unbelievers make about our misplaced and misguided faith in a God they don't believe in? How many times have we heard disparaging remarks about our faith from unbelievers?

Don't get mad at the ones who are making the remarks; fight back (spiritually speaking) against the one who influences their thinking--the devil--whose job is to kill, steal, destroy, manipulate and lie. He's doing his job, we need to do ours.

"Hold fast to your faith" which will sustain you in the depths of the valleys, in the wilderness, in the midnight hour, and when it appears that all hope is gone--hold fast to the faith you have in the One true God, the one who makes all things possible, and with Him, nothing is impossible.

Remind the devil that you have more faith than the size of a mustard seed and that you are victorious in all things. We are conquerors; not the conquered. We are the head, not the tail. By His stripes we are healed, not wallowing in sickness. No weapon--nothing the enemy says--can defeat us because the greater One resides within us.

Faith keeps us focused on Who, not the what, that happens in our lives. Faith sustains and keeps us in communication with the Father and we know that nothing we ask of Him, in Jesus' name will be denied us.

So, when bad things happens or you get a report that is not from The Lord, keep the faith and keep saying what God says about your situation, no matter how things look. Don't worry about the report--focus on The Word!

And What Are You?

"Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death” (Revelation 21:7,8 NIV).

Are you victorious? That is--you have victory in all situations through Jesus Christ--because He is the greater One in you. Or do you fall into the second category--the cowardly, unbelieving...?

Only you can determine what your end will be. Are you victorious or cowardly and unbelieving?
Only you--not me, not God, only you can determine what and who you are.

If you're not sure, now would be a good time to get into The Word (any good translation will do), meditate, reflect, and open your heart to receive the best God has for you. A relationship with Him is better than relationship with any "religious affiliation" or religion. It is having that relationship with Him, that assures reception of all His many benefits. Do it now--and know who you are and what your end will be!

And The Beat Goes On!

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/maryandtyrone/2014/05/22/and-the-beat-goes-on

A great opportunity to listen to our archived episode from yesterday! We always have fun!

When We See This!

"When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes" (Isaiah 66:14 NIV).

The thirteenth verse of scripture states that, "The Lord comfort like a mother" (paraphrased) and all will see this. Moving on to the next verse, we are told what will happen when we see this.

Our hearts will rejoice--overflowing with joy.

We will flourish like grass--keep increasing year after year and look good (if well-kept and cared for).

Everyone will know that the hand of The Lord guides us and keeps us safe from harm and directs our success.

And...His enemies--those who openly oppose Him--deny His existence and disobey His Word--shall know His fury!

I don't know about you, but I plan to remain His child and receive His comfort and never, ever become one His enemies!

When we know we are doing the right thing for all the right reasons--we can expect to see His blessings in our lives. But for those who choose not to do what is right, they too can expect--to see His fury.

When I look at our society--on a global level--I cannot help but wonder whether some of the extreme weather conditions we see are the result of His fury--against those who oppose Him. Now, notice I did not say that the weather is a result of His displeasure; I said, I wonder.

No matter what anyone thinks or wonders-we only have to look back at history to understand how God operates--when sin is in the atmosphere, it tends to shake things up and everyone not willing to change their ways--creates an environment that leads to destruction--of many!

So, when we see--the violence that escalates in countries, nation against nation, brother against brother, parents against children and children against parents, disrespect of self and others of such magnitude that children could not possibly understand moral ethics when they do not see any--from anyone--especially those in the public arena. When we see the changes in the environment that threaten the very existence of whole communities, do we understand why or do we just continue to accept sin as a way of life and do nothing to preserve humanity?

The choice is ours--we can receive His comfort or His fury. What are we going to see?
When we see the need to honor and respect--The One who created all things and without whom, nothing was ever created, we will see His comfort--love, mercy, grace and changes in the atmosphere--peace in the land--confirming and justifying our faith in Him.

Don't Get Tired Doing Good!

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (Galatians 6: 9,10 NIV).

Sometimes, when our own circumstances seem insurmountable, we tend to dwell on our problems and sink into depths of depression, oppressed by those things we cannot control. When we cannot see beyond the next moment, it is difficult to think about the needs of others, but we must.

When we know to do good and don't--it is sin, no matter what our circumstances are. God encourages us in His Word not to focus on our own issues, but to be on the look out to do something for others--especially those who belong to the family of believers. If we really trust Him, we can know with assurance that when we give our problems to Him, He will take care of them-in His timing, not necessarily ours.

So, while we patiently wait for Him to bring to fruition what we need, we can--if we try--see the needs of others and do good, no matter what our own circumstances.

Doing good for others does not necessarily cost money, but it will take time. But how much time does it take to smile or hug? Time used in prayer is never wasted time, and neither is time used to call or write someone to encourage them to stay strong. This is doing good and when we take the time to serve the needs of others, we please God. When God is pleased with us, He responds to our faith in Him.

It's a good time to exercise unconditional faith (resting assured of the outcome--no matter what we see), and do good for someone else who is waiting--for us--for an encouraging word. It won't cost us anything but time. Love--such a wonderful thing--that can shared with anyone, by anyone,, at any time--all the time! Love to love you, today--now get going and do something good!

If The Gospel Offends...!

It has occurred to me that some people may not want to hear about The Word on a daily basis.

It has also occurred to me that those same people do not have to read what I write. If the Gospel offends, it is because it brings conviction--makes people aware of sin--even when they try to hide.

We cannot hide from God, nor can we ignore sin--even if we try.

I am accountable for what I write, but I am not accountable for those who choose to reject the truth of the Gospel.

For those who choose to accept, reflect, mediate, and focus on The Lord because of what I write--Amen, Hallelujah! For those who don't--oh well!

I love The Lord and I love encouraging others to come to know Him for themselves, and if that offends--oh well!

What Will Your Reward Be?

"For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done" (Matthew 16:27 NIV).

Most people like getting rewarded for doing good things, accomplishing goals, or just for being recognized for any achievement--Olympians, Athletes, Actors, Singers, Dancers, everyone.

Children like getting rewards for good behavior; students like getting rewards for good grades, attendance, and other accomplishments--especially extra curricular activities. Employees like getting rewards for a job well done. Businesses like getting rewards for providing great products and services. Consumers even like getting rewards where they frequently patronize a business. I love my rewards cards. Rewards--are a great thing to get--for doing the right thing.

But when we look at this passage of scripture, we see that "each person" will be rewarded according to what they have done. This reward will not be for those who did good or the right thing, but each person--based upon what they did. Does that mean that a reward can have a negative connotation? It would appear so, since we know that not everyone has reached a place where they have acknowledged Jesus Christ as Savior and they surely have not all lived according to God's Word.

In light of this thought (in line with The Word), think about what your reward might be. Some will receive a variety of crowns for living according to God's Word and doing His will instead of their own thing. Some will receive their mansions. Some will hear, "Well done!" and others--well, only God knows what their reward will be since He has the final say on that day of judgment.

I'm not waiting until then to hope for a reward for living right--I'm living right, now--and thereby assuring my rewards--according to all God has said. This does not mean that I have reached perfection, but it does mean I actually think about what I do before I do and usually, I do what is expected of me. Sometimes, it takes a little longer for me to do it, but eventually, I get it done.

What about you? Are you sure you know what your reward will be? If not, you can be sure by getting into The Word and living a life that's pleasing to God! The rewards on earth and in heaven are worth it! Try it--you'll see! Great is the faithfulness of The Lord to fulfill His promises to all who love and obey Him! Hallelujah!

Reading, Reading!

Don't forget to check out the books on http://www.amazon.com/Mary-M-Hall-Rayford/e/B00BAW31CQ/  Something for everyone!

New Birth!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time" (I Peter 1:3-5 NIV).

In Peter's greeting--to all who have been exiled across the provinces--including Asia. he reminds people of what God has done--for us--through Jesus Christ. Now, it's time for us to do something.
Because of His mercy, we have been given a new birth--we are born-again--spiritually--so we might receive the inheritance of heaven and God's protection until such time that we breathe our last. If we are willing to acknowledge the hope we have in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and have faith that we, too shall rise again after our physical death, we will enter into the promise.

What does this mean? Whatever issues we claim to be inherent with our physical birth--we can be born-again. We do not have to succumb to anything that hinders or creates obstacles from our receiving God's best in our lives. Generational curses can be broken with obedience to God. Miracles can be received with faith in God. All things are possible with Him and with Him, nothing is impossible!

For all who have not been "born-again" of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, it is not too late--as long as the last breath has not been taken. While we are yet living, we have opportunity to receive all of God's promises that He has in store for us--in the earth realm. If we have acknowledged Him and submitted to His guidance before we die, nothing happens or is possible after we die--"for the dead know nothing."

It is time recognize the mercy of God and be born again--accepting the new birth--a new birth that gives us another chance to get things right with God before Jesus returns!

Why hesitate? The time is now--receive all that God has for you by submitting to His will!

Surrounded With His Favor!

"Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield" (Psalm 5:12 NIV)
The fact that being in right-standing with God puts one in position to be a recipient of His favor should not surprise or amaze anyone. Everyone wants to walk in His favor, but how many are willing to do what is right in order to be in right-standing with God? The amazing fact is that so many either do not have a clue as to what it means to be in right-standing with God or they do not care and refuse to do what is right.
Let's face it--there are a lot of people who believe they are in right-standing with God because of their own "self-righteousness." These are the people who take it upon themselves to judge (unjustly) everyone else who is not living according to their standards. For some reason, they feel they have the right to set standards for others when in fact--their own relationship with God is non-existent--they have a relationship with religion, not with God. The real problem is--they do not know the difference.
When people are in right-standing with God and have an established, maintained relationship with God--not only do they know and understand The Word--they live it. They are loving, forgiving, full of mercy and compassion and yet they tell people the Truth about God's Word without condemning them. When people only know how to spew The Word at others because of what "they see" they are extremely judgmental and quick to send people to hell, without realizing the danger which they put themselves of ending up there.
Not one of us walking on the face of the earth can "send anyone to hell." If a person ends up in hell it is because of their choices, not our decisions. If those "hell-senders" really had a relationship with God and not religion, they would know that God doesn't intend for anyone to be in hell other than Satan, but the provision was made for those who "choose" to follow Satan.
Okay--so there are consequences for our behavior--that determine where we spend eternity--heaven or hell. While I cannot speak for others, I can say with assurance that I am heaven-bound; not because of any righteousness that I have attained, but because of my relationship with God and being in right-standing with Him. I have received His love, know how to give love and to love all, forgive, have mercy and compassion for others and can and do teach the uncompromised Word of Truth. Whether people receive The Word of Truth is up to them--it is my responsibility to teach it, not to make others receive it and live it. That is being in right-standing with God.
Therefore, I am surrounded with His favor because of my willingness to be in right-standing with Him. Glory to God! I pray all get into the position to know--with assurance--what their standing is with God.
Getting into The Word for yourself puts you into good position to know and receive all God has for you!

Before Our Very Eyes!

Before Our Very Eyes!

At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the Lord. (Zechariah 3:20 NIV).

We all know that God’s timing is like our timing for with Him, “a thousand years is but a day and a day a thousand years” so at what time is the prophet referencing?

Some may posture that the time is when we are all in heaven. Some may say it has already occurred. Here’s another “theory” about that time. That time–is whatever time God says it is; not us. When He will gather us and bring us home–in His timing. When He will give us honor and praise among “all peoples of the earth” and restore our fortunes before our very eyes, is His timing; not ours. Rather than theorizing about the “when” I’d rather look forward to seeing it since I know that, “eyes have not seen, nor ears heard of all the wonderful things He has in store for us.”

While I wait to see–I will concentrate on being obedient to His Word–embracing my relationship with Him all the more and showering others with the love received from Him, until all I know come to know Him for themselves. How will I do it? One person at a time–with a hug, a smile, a bill tucked into the palms of their hands, an encouraging word that will help keep them focused on moving forward and not dwelling on a past that is beyond recovery, and teaching everything I know, by continuing to learn.

I know that fortunes have been lost with the people who have been lost in the process of time and death. Those people–who could have been instrumental in amassing financial fortunes–left before many had opportunity to do so, but they left behind those who loved them and who are determined to make their lives a legacy before others. Our love for lost loved ones should ignite in us the determination to do all we can before our time is up, and before we can reasonably amass a fortune in “love” that rains upon others, inspiring growth and maturity that will be passed on to generations to come. Our fortunes restored–before our very eyes lie in ability to love and see love grow by what we do that will lead people into greater understanding and knowledge of who God is! He will do it–before our very eyes–if we simply trust and obey!

Gathering us together–those who love and know Love–bringing us home–for home is where the heart is–will be the biggest blessing to mankind that all will be able to see–because and love and peace will abound in all the earth–before our very eyes.

I don’t know about you, but I’m prepared to live a life moving towards the prize–of having Him say “at that time” when all has been said and done, “Well Done!” What are you going to do?

Comfort As He Comforts!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God" (2 Corinthians 1:3,4 NIV).
While on this journey (life) we have all felt the need to be comforted at one time or another. When we're unhappy, we need to be comforted; when we're sad, we need to be comforted, when we feel lost or abandoned, we need to be comforted. For those who know The Lord, we know we can turn to Him--for whatever we need--and it will be provided. And because we know Him, we can reach out to others to comfort them when they need to be comforted--and comfort them--like He comforts us. How do we do that? By showering them with love.
Loving a person means more than just having a "feeling" about someone. When we truly love someone--that love is manifested by our willingness to serve them--in whatever capacity they need to be served. If they need a hug, we hug them. If they need encouragement, we encourage. If they need a shoulder to cry on, we allow them to lean on us and cry. If they need food and shelter, we direct or assist them in achieving a need. If they need a smile, we smile. What does God do? He uses us to serve the needs of others by doing for us, what He wants us to do.
There are a number of people out there in the world today who are fearful, insecure, lonely, desolate and feeling unloved. Won't you find them--seek them out and find a way to comfort them? Sometimes, just a cup of coffee or tea and a hug makes a world of difference to those who are facing unknown trials and known persecutions. Students are graduating without knowing what's ahead of them--give them an encouraging word. Soldiers are leaving families to protect other families--assure them you'll be there for theirs when they need them. Someone just buried a loved one--don't crowd them right now, but let them know you'll be there when they need you.
We are not God, but we can do some of the things that He does--never allow anyone to feel alone or abandoned by letting them we'll be right there and they are never alone. Our most effective witness to others is in how we treat people, not in just having something to say about Jesus. Be a witness today--offer comfort where comfort is needed and when you need it--He'll be right there in the person of someone else who has learned to comfort like He comforts.

Do All In His Name!

"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him" (Colossians 3:17).

There are times when we feel like the only thing we want to do is "what we want to do" and sometimes what we want is not what God wants us to do. How do we determine when it's us or Him? We ask ourselves--would God be pleased?

If we can determine that God would indeed be pleased then we can do "it" whatever it is, in the name of The Lord and be assured of its success! Maybe, just maybe, when we do not succeed at doing something it is because we were doing what we wanted to do and did not consider what God might us to do. If we don't make that consideration chances are--we're not doing it in His name.

When we gamble in attempt to gain, financially, are we doing it in the name of the Lord?

When we conduct business without integrity, are we doing it in the name of the Lord?

When we constantly find fault with everyone around us instead of praying for them, are we doing it in the name of the Lord?

When parents abuse children, are they doing it in the name of the Lord?

When we neglect the gifts that God has given us to promote the Gospel, are we doing it in the name of the Lord?

When politicians proceed with their own agenda instead of their constituents, are they doing it in the name of the Lord?

If we truly want peace in the land, we need to practice peace and pray for no confusion and do all in the name of the Lord--to see God's handiwork in everything we do.

Let's clean up our acts--in obedience to God's Word, not in rebellion--and do it all in the name of the Lord!

Waiting!

"Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD" (Psalm 27:14 NIV).

Still waiting for the return of my computer! I'm trying to find other things to keep me busy, to keep my mind off the potential lost of all my work, story ideas, not yet developed, and with my propensity to forget--may never be remembered.
While I wait, I think about how God has waited patiently for us to get living right! He never gave up on us (at least some of us). He knew when we would reach the bottom or end of ourselves and be willing to turn to Him, recognizing that He was just waiting for us!
I can't not speak for others, but from a time of accountability (12 or thereabouts), God had to wait for me--to allow Him to reveal Himself to me. I didn't get it until I was 36 years-old. I mean I knew about God, but I did not know Him--on a personal level. I've given my testimony before so I won't bore anyone with a repeat performance, but I'm so glad He waited for me. I'm sure I missed out on some really great rewards, had I been willing to submit to Him earlier in life, but as they (don't know who "they" is), better late than never.
There is no way--I would ever return to the life I once lived without Him, guiding me. He has been too good to me--even in the middle of chaos, confusion, and loss of family members--for me turn back into the pit that nearly cost me my life.
I can live without all the drama of trying to "be something I was never intended to be" in order to do what He desires for me to do--share the Gospel, encourage others to seek Him and live for Him.
So thinking back about how long He waited for me, I can wait a few more days to get my computer back. At least, I hope it is only a few more days. While I wait, I'll pray, and read, and try to remember all those great story ideas and story maps, already written, but may be lost.

If you're waiting--stay strong and trust in Him. He'll make everything all right!

With Patience Do We Wait!

Talking about patience is a lot easier than "doing" patience!
Here am I, waiting for the return of my computer, and at first--I convinced myself to be patient. "In your souls possess you possess your patience!" Well, I guess my soul is getting a little restless or anxious because my patience is running a little thin.
Sure, I can use my little tablet for some things, but it's not the same as using a full size keyboard and having a full size monitor on which I can actually see what I'm typing (I hope people can read this--I can barely see it).
At least I know once I receive the recovery disk, it won't be long. I was just informed yesterday that the disc had been shipped. I'm practice deep breathing to keep me from losing it. I am so dependent upon my computer!
As a writer, who does not use "pen and paper" I am lost without my computer. And the bad thing is since the hard drive crashed, I have to start everything over from scratch if they cannot recover my documents and pictures--oh! What a mess!
Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way (or out of my system), I think I can wait. And while I'm waiting, guess what I'm doing? A little of this, a little of that. I've walked over five miles already this week, tended the little garden planted, working on doing some housework (which I hate, but someone has to do it). Oh! I've actually finished two books!
Yeah, we can learn to wait with patience or at least learn to patiently wait, doing other things. If there's a difference--let me know!
Trying to be a little humorous today so I won't become despondent and cry over the fact that my computer has deserted me and I feel so alone and abandoned! (sniff, sniff)
God bless your day as you laugh at the antics of an older woman with vision issues and fingers that are too big and heavy for this little keyboard. Luv2luvU!

Just About Now!

Surviving one of the harshest winters seen in Michigan has led me to think about a number of things. What does it all mean--the extreme weather conditions, the rise of dark deeds to daylight, the political apathy perpetuated by those who are supposed to know how to get things done, and yet--the country is in limbo because of their lack of compassion and integrity in all things. People are killing people without thinking about the consequences or impact of lives left behind--the moral fabric of this nation has been shredded and repairs seem non-existent. What should we do?

Just about now, everyone should be praying--like never before for God to have mercy on us--a rebellious nation, who refuses to obey His Word.

"If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray--turn from their wicked ways--then will I hear from heaven and heal the land" (paraphrased).

Who is called by His name? Anyone who professes to have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, calling upon God the Father, and living in obedience to His Word is called by His Name--Wonderful Counselor, Provider, Healer, children of the most High God--start praying!

We have allowed the demons to direct their deeds of darkness to rise to daylight instead of staying hidden in the shadows of guilt. Now those deeds are celebrated--in the light of day--worshipped and adored--openly rebellious against all that God has said is wrong and we wonder why our nation is in the state it is!

When people refuse to act without thinking--the negative consequences mount to staggering proportions, impacting people in phenomenal proportions and the sin spreads like an unstoppable wave--encroaching further and further into the hearts of those who once knew and appreciated God, revered Him and not man's propensity to perpetuate unrighteousness in people who are doomed to failure in ways we have never seen before and will not live to see again, if this attitude prevails.
Just about now--we should all be able to see the writing on the wall--the demise of mankind because of rebellious spirits who are man-pleasers and not God-pleasers.

Father, in the name of Jesus, forgive us for ignoring Your Word and help us to understand the magnitude of our actions and how rebellion against Your Word impacts all nations and has consequences for future generations, our descendants who will pay for our sin. Give us a heart full of desire to please You, rather than flesh of any kind (man or woman) and steer in the right direction that will save our nation and our childrens' futures. We thank You for hearing and answering all prayers that honor You.

Somewhere Out There!

Somewhere out there in the universe is the pathway to seeing all of God's promises fulfilled in this lifetime.

"We must work, while it is day because when night comes--no one can see enough to get anything done." (Paraphrased)

If we do not do everything while we have an opportunity to do it--while we yet have breathe in our bodies and the use of our limbs, when we are dead--our darkness has come--it will be too late.
Since death does not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, or ethnicity, none of us are exempt from leaving here--the planet earth--at any time. Even though I plan to live until I'm ninety-five; I have no idea what God's plans for me are--as to when He'll call me home. So, I've made up my mind, that no matter what happens, there is an avenue by which I can reach all of my goals and fulfill God's plans (with ministry) before it's time for me to go. Somewhere out there-on planet earth, there are people who are in position to do what must be done--God is speaking to hearts and I pray that those He is speaking to are listening.

None of us were intended to live a life in isolation and we are all supposed to help one another ("Be helpers of one another"); especially those in the body of Christ. So, I'll wait to hear from those He has spoken to on my behalf.  I know you're out there--somewhere. But don't wait too long to respond to His voice. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone and if I'm sure you don't want to miss being a blessing to others.

God bless you richly for being obedient and doing all He puts upon your heart to do--for whoever He says to do it for or with. He is also speaking to someone on your behalf and I pray all are listening and willing to do--because somewhere out there--there are those who hold the keys to blessings meant to overflow and overtake all who are in need.

Created For Good Works!

Today's scripture reference is from Ephesians 2:10.  Due to technological issues, I am at present unable to reproduce the post on this page, but my thoughts for today can be accessed through www.maryhallrayford.wordpress.com. Enjoy!

Recognizing Special People--Mothers!

Today, is unlike most days, were we simply take mothers for granted. Today--we honor them in special ways!

My mother died from cancer at the age of 58 and she's been gone for over 20 years, but I still miss her and remember the lessons she taught.

If your mother is still around--among the living--show her how much you love her--today--while you can because tomorrow just might be too late. If you are a mother--take the time to enjoy the day and know that you are loved--by so many more than those who tell you.

Since I am still experiencing difficulties with access to share my blog posts the way I normally do, I encourage you to check in to www.maryhallrayford.wordpress.com to see what I said about "Mother's--Special People."

No Difference!

"There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:28,29 NIV).

When we belong to Christ--have surrendered our all to Him--He makes no difference between us, no matter what our nationality is, our ethnicity is, or our gender--He loves us all and we are all joint-heirs with Him.

Whenever the devil--no matter what form or shape he takes--dogmatic preacher, ill-informed nuisance, or simply those ignorant of God's grace, mercy and indiscriminate nature--tries to tell us we cannot do something because of our race or gender or anything else--he lies!

God does not discriminate on the basis of anything other than those who are living a life for Him. If our lifestyles are not pleasing to Him, then we may run into a few problems. His command is that we obey Him. For any who will not obey, they cannot realistically expect anything from Him. But for those who obey--we have a right to expect all of His promises fulfilled in our lives. Glory Hallelujah!
So--if we are black, white, American, Russian (or any other nationality), male, female, young or old when we obey--we please Him and He gives us the desires of our hearts! All because He is God and He loves us and He makes no difference between any of us!

We Lack No Good Thing!

"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing" (Psalm 34:8-10 NIV).

Before we can usually determine whether appetizing food is good or not, we must taste--savor it--and make a decision. Sometimes, even when a dish "looks good" we end up spitting it out (delicately) because the taste does not agree with our taste buds. And sometimes, when something does not look that great, it turns out to be absolutely delicious. But we won't know for certain until we taste it.

This is the attitude we should have with Jesus. Even though there are some who would say our time in serving God or communicating with Him is wasted, we must determine that for ourselves, by getting to know Him and trusting Him for ourselves. If we have a testimony--about God's goodness and people can "see" how our relationship with Him has changed our lives, they are more likely to "taste" Him for themselves.

If our lives are shabby (we're living any way we want to live without God's guidance) and yet try to convince someone else that God is good--we're laughable. Unfortunately, this is the reason many will not come to Jesus to try Him for themselves--the people who are trying to convince others, are not true representatives of Him.  They are full of hate, critical of others without facts, turn up their noses at others when they see they are distressed, and would not lift a finger to help someone else unless there was something in it for them. This does not provide an appeal for anyone to trust in The Lord or seek Him.

But those who have insight and wisdom into the deeper things of God (beyond surface level) understand the need to be the best representative of who He is to all people at all times. We can create a desire in others to seek God for themselves when our lives speak volumes of His goodness.

We must trust, fear (hold God in reverence, not be afraid of Him), and seek Him at all times and He has promised that we would lack no good thing. If we are lacking any good thing, perhaps it is because we are not trusting Him, holding Him in reverence or seeking Him for direction about everything.

O Taste and see how good God is and how He loves us. Seek understanding for why He was willing to die for us and now offers us power--through Holy Spirit--to accomplish all things to His glory!

Lead Them, Lord!

"This is what the LORD says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ “They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill. They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water." (Isaiah 49:9-11 NIV).

Father, in the name of Jesus,

Pour out Your favor upon the Nigerian school girls and their families and all those involved in their rescue. Help them O Lord to be very courageous in the face of adversity. Give them boldness to resist and fight back against the enemy who would harm them. Create in the minds and hearts of rescuers, wisdom and insight to fight them and get them back to their families. Strengthen and comfort the hearts of those whose children were abducted. For every man or woman who has compassion in their hearts and will rise up to save and guide them to safety, reward them 100-fold for the rest of their lives. O Lord, our provider, our healer, our protector, we stand on Your Word, and with great expectation, wait to see the salvation of the Lord in the lives of these girls. We thank You for hearing and answering prayer, all to Your glory so all may know, that You and You alone are God! Amen!

For all who read and agree with in prayer, may God bless you richly as you continue to pray for the safe return of these girls to their families.

Every Once In A While!

Every now and then, I stop and think
About my life and where I am, on the brink
Of greatness or mediocrity, full of joy or sadness
Thinking about world events and all the madness
That makes no sense, has no rhyme or reason
And then I reflect, all the more this season,
Getting close to Mother's Day!
Even though mine is gone--over 20 years now,
I can't help but remember, her living and how
She kept us line, taught us morals and work ethics
Provided a basis of faith, though she sometimes wavered,
And deep in my heart, I knew I was not who she favored,
But she loved us--each and everyone--not with words,
So much, but her actions were loud and no one misunderstood,
What she meant, with hugs or with the short end of wood
Of a switch we had to choose for her to use when we foolishly
Disobeyed or created chaos and unrest in her home.
So, every once in a while, I sit and ponder, the life she made
For us--not wealthy in material things, but we learned so much more
And she find excuses not work, two jobs and we were still poor,
Materially, but spiritually we thrived and survived and two of us
Are yet here to remind each other,
About our idiosyncratic mother--may she rest in peace.
Every once in a while, give mothers their due and think about how
You can show them some love; especially if they are still here-wow
Them and if not--send some love to those up above
In the heavenlies, reminding self--nothing like a true mother's love!

Lord Jesus, help us to be mindful of our mothers--here or gone and help us to better at being a mother after Your heart, so our children and grandchildren will think about us--every once in a while!

It's Already Done!

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24 NIV).

There are many people who "say" they believe something, but then their doubt creeps into their conversation and anyone listening realizes that--they didn't really believe what they said.

Within the context of this very familiar passage of scripture (for most Believers), we find Jesus talking to His disciples about faith and prayer "after" they see the withered fig tree. Their comments triggered the response Jesus gave them. "Have faith in God, don't doubt what you say and whatever you say will come to pass" (verses 22,23). Then He gets to the good part--"believe you have already received and it will be yours." It's already done when we believe we already have it.

But then--in John's conversation about prayer, there was something added. "Whatever you ask the
Father for in my name, shall be given" (John 14:13,14 15:16, and 16:23,24 paraphrased).

There are no magic bullets to seeing prayer answered. Our faith determines what shall be done in response to our prayers. I've said this before, but I'll say it again.  When we pray--believe, without doubting, that when you ask for anything (in alignment with The Word),  you can receive it and it will be done. Don't wait until you see it to believe you'll have it. Act like you already have it, continue to thank God for it, and rejoice when it manifest itself.  This is His response to our prayers. I dare you try it--and don't doubt--but have faith in God!

Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for quick resolution for all the unrest in the land, healing for sickness and disease, and receptivity by all who are promoting the Gospel and their safety. We thank You and receive it because it is done!

"If..."

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (I John 1:8,9).

The tiny little word, "if" is mentioned in the bible 1595 times in 1420 verses. For most parents, if we say something more than once, it must be important. If we're in training--for anything--and we're told something more than once, it must be important. So, when God uses those who were inspired to write what He said and He says something 1595 times, shouldn't we pay attention?

Throughout the Word, we see these "if, then" premises--"if one thing happens, then it will lead to something else. Most of the "ifs" involve us doing something, then we see what God does or will do.

There are too many references for me to list them all, so I'll just address these two. If anyone says they have no sin or have not sinned, God says they have deceived themselves. That's right! All of those holier than Jesus folks need to really get a handle on this one. Paul reminds us in another passage of scripture that, "all have sinned and fallen short" at one time or another. None of us are perfect, which is why we need Jesus in our lives so we can continually per-fect what we do. For every person who dares to think they have never committed sin--no matter what the sin was or is--they lie--to themselves and others because, "the truth is not in them."

But there is a remedy! If we confess what we have done that goes against God's commandments, then God is faithful and just and He forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. But we have to confess the sin, first--not to men or women, but to God. When we confess what we have done to God, it is so much easier to be compassionate towards those who are just like us--imperfect, fallible human beings, in need of a Savior.

When He cleanses us-thoroughly purges all that stuff that keeps us feeling and looking guilty--we should not want to go back into the filth in which we once were. Picture this! How much sense does it make to get out of a muddy, filthy, slimy pool of misery--get showered, and perfumed and glamorous--only to jump back into the filth?

Let's confess and get it right--realizing we need the direction and guidance of Holy Spirit, every hour of our lives! Thank You, Lord for loving us so much, that we never without guidance!

Eyes On Me!

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you" (Psalm 32:8,9 NIV).

There are so many eyes--looking upon everything we do--judging, evaluating, assessing, criticizing, not knowing who we really are or who is guiding us. Or do they?
If the Lord is giving us instruction, and teaching us how to get to the destination He has planned for us, and counseling us as we journey in life, we have no need to be concerned about what others see--for they will only see our willing obedience to God, doing what must be done to obtain the goal.
However, whatever we do, whatever others see--will determine whether we need to be "controlled or forced" to do something.

In spite of what many think, our obedience to God is out of a desire to please Him, not because He forces us to do anything. If we have a heart for God and we are hearing Him, we know that He only wants the best for us and we only want to please Him.

For those who do not understand God's love or His plans, His Word will seem harsh and brash and controlling. But God--never forces or controls us to do anything--He gives us freewill to choose and to accept the consequences of our actions. When we choose not to understand or hear Him, we are left with those entities that will control--demonic spirits that lead us down the opposite paths of those God wants us to travel.

On the path to hell (and it is real), everything glitters and has much more appeal to our senses--sight, smell, feel, taste, hearing--it all looks good, smells good, feels good, tastes good and sounds good, but is it--all good? NO! The enemy deliberately makes everything that opposes God look better than anything God wants us to have because he--the devil--wants us to be miserable and to hate God.

Not convinced of the devil's controlling influence? Take a good look around at our society--at those who are influenced by greed, drugs, and all other lusts of the flesh. The gambling looked good--easy money--until it's all gone and now people have to steal to support their habit. The same is true with drugs and alcohol--controlling substances. On a personal level--hygiene takes a backseat to fulfilling the desires and cravings of those things which control the mind and behavior.

Feelings and cravings in the lower extremities of bodies control--making sexual appeal for anyone more desirable and pleasurable than doing things God's way. Even food controls--for those who lack discipline and self-control, overeating--which leads to health problems and early deaths. Oh, yes--the enemy controls, but God instructs, teaches, and counsels and leaves it up to us to hear and obey.

Whose eyes are upon you, today--the loving eyes of the Lord or the gleaming eyes of the devil? They know and we should, too--just by looking at what we do!

Generational Recipient of Love!

"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments" (Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV).

God is keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who "love Him and keep His commandments." I'm in the fold of the thousand generations! How do I know? I love Him and love others--no matter what--fulfilling the commandments of love!

Some might say, "Yeah, right; sure you are!" How can anyone love everyone with so much hatred in the world?

This is how I do it: I have learned to love me, first--doing all the things that would not cause me harm, but doing those things that would lead to greater physical health and peace of mind. After I read God's Word, studied and meditated upon it, and realized how much He loved me, I didn't want His love to be squandered or unappreciated so I changed my way of living along with my attitude towards people.

The more I discovered about how great a love He has for me, the more I loved Him. Now, I try always to do those things that please Him, so He will know without a doubt, how much I love Him.
Because I willingly received His love, I have an abundance of love overflowing, seeking those who will receive love from me. It's not easy! Some people are filled with so much hate for self, God and others, they miss seeing love (not lust) when it is presented to them. For these, I love them enough to pray for them--praying they will receive God's love and learn to love self and others. For those who receive the love, I encourage, however I can--to always seek God first, have faith in Him, and know that they are loved, no matter what event attempts to deter them from loving.

Do I like everyone I love? Absolutely not! God does not always like the things we do, but He never stops loving us. I don't always like the things my children or grandchildren do, but I never stop loving them. The same is true of people I know and those I don't know (globally). I know how to love whether I like a person or not. Again, when I see problems, I pray--for wisdom in rectifying a situation and the courage to get it done. Telling people the truth when they do not want to hear it, takes courage and wisdom and I always try to hear God before I do or say anything.

It's not too late to become a generational recipient of love--just learn to love God and keep His commandments--the commandments to love Him and others.

The Safe Place!

"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9 NIV).

Imagine--the One Place--where safety resides,
For all who trust the Lord and in His Word abide,
In good times, bad times, when the enemy's thoughts reign
In the minds of those who have forgotten just whose side
They should be on--The side of right, justice, mercy and love,
The only One who can save us from His throne in heaven above.
All the chaos and confusion that tend to influence delusion
In self and government and family and friends, until finally
Rage rises and roils in tumult and foils and we believe the end
Is now, but when we read His Word, we succeed, knowing all these things
Must come to past before the end is really the end, before determined fate
Is made, here's a chance to get things right and know the power of God's might
When we choose to live with Him and for Him, in The Safe Place,
