2017 in Review and Hope for 2018!

From the beginning to the end, my focus has been a bit limited--boxed in reflections about a lost Democratic election, realizing a pathological lying clown was now in the White House, the world stares in amazement wondering what happened to America and the Americans who live here, we become the laughingstock on the global stage and the children of the lying one--apparently don't care he has dementia or some other cognitive impairment because they're too busy cheating governments and banks. What a year! Oh and we can't forget at the end--through all the other chaos and obstruction of justice and conspiracy to commit treason, the lying one signed into legislation a tax bill that takes from the poor and gives to the rich and oh how the mighty--faux Christians in the GOP rejoiced! Yeah, it's been a year to remember all right. But to make sense of it all, I have to put everything into its proper perspective.

• I've spent more time on social media than I ever thought possible--venting and tweeting and interacting with others who are likeminded. That has been a blast!
• I participated in the first march of the year after watching the Women's March on January 21st--it impacted the world as women from every walk of life protested the Putin installed plant in the White House.
• For the first time in my life, I made a decision to get involved in politics--running for President of the United States in 2020. Big decision, big discussions with husband and children and eventually friends. Some supportive and some not. I understand their reluctance and respect, but it won't stop me. Never occurred to me to "ask permission" of anyone to run for President though some act like that's what I should have been doing.
• I spent some hard-earned cash supporting various candidates and in support of the ACLU because I realized that with the lying one in office, we're going to need all the help we can get to overturn the negligible policies that are bound to come forth and we saw that with the immediate attempt of a travel ban against Muslims.  The lying one is too stupid to realize being Muslim is not an ethnicity, but a religion.
• We all learned about "alternative facts" spewed by the surrogate of the lying one which made most of us realize that "lying must be contagious."
• Sean Spicer lied about the size of the inaugural crowd and then about everything else.
• Kellyanne Conway just lies in her attempts to spin things.
• The lying one didn't realize that Frederick Douglass had been dead for over 150 years and gave him praise in front of cameras (an event which ignited someone on Twitter to find a picture of Frederick Douglass and bring him back to life).
• The lying one wants to be a dictator and tell everyone what to do and expect them to do. He found a few who wouldn't play by his rules--instead they acted with integrity and honor. Thanks for showing us the way--Preet, Sally, and Jim!
• So many others have been kicked out the door of the White House with the one who thought she had "an in" with the lying one--she's gone and already touting a "tell-all book deal."
• War--is a definite possibility since the lying one doesn't realize most people can't be bullied. The question is--who will engage the madness--North Korea, Iran, China, or Russia. Yeah, it's been interesting and hopefully, not tragic.
• I've learned a lot--along with the rest of the country that the appropriate term we should use involving the lying one's interaction with Russian meddling has to termed "conspiracy" rather than collusion. At any rate, it won't matter much longer because the entire world will know--the lying one is guilty of conspiring against America, violating his oaths of office and is a total disgrace to humanity.
• But all is not lost--I'm gathering steam in gaining supporting for my potential candidacy. Literature is ready to go and the plan is to have press releases drafted and ready to send on November 7, 2018. Must help to flip the House and the Senate. With effort and cooperation, we can accomplish great things--winning seats and flipping them blue in deep red states.
• All of the adversity and hatred and angst coming from the White House has made me more determined than ever to not just run for the office, but to win it. We all deserve better than what we have in the Oval Office right now.
• Though I usually plan to write at least one new book a year, this year, all my time and writing has been posted online either here, Medium, Facebook, or Twitter. I guess if I compiled them all, it'd make one heck of an interesting book.
• At any rate, on a personal level, I've learned that having a teenage driver in the house can be pretty darn stressful and expensive. I was pretty proud of my grandson getting his license, but maybe my pride was a bit misplaced.
• Anxiety and stress can become serious issues in the minds of teenagers and I had an awakening with the onset of depression, triggering thoughts of suicide--it's been difficult, but I'm determined to see him through this. I guess the thought of graduating at 16, with college applications and all the expectations of others can leave a person a bit depleted.

I've always felt that every experience in my life has made a stronger, better, wiser person and this last year's experiences are no different. I am stronger--emotionally and spiritually than I was a year ago, I am better because I realized I had been holding onto ideologies that exclude people from my life, rather than draw them in and I let them go. I am wiser because I know that every single day I live, is an opportunity for me to learn something new; that perfection is something I can strive for but probably won't reach since human beings can only be perfect in a comatose state or dead. That's wisdom for you.

I'm looking forward to the new year because I'm on a mission and when I'm ready to fight, nothing gets in my way. Yeah, I know Republicans love to malign and belittle, trying every way they can to humiliate those who don't agree with them and I'm okay with that. I know how to fight and I don't fight fair. So if they want to start with their "opposition research" on me, let them have at it. I'm ready for whatever they attempt to "make up" in an effort to discredit me because there is nothing in my background that I'm ashamed of. I look forward to the microscopic scrutiny of whoever. And I also look forward to debating the issues that impact the lives of all Everyday Americans with whoever is up for the challenge.

Though some may think I'm a light-weight when it comes to doing politics--I'm sure I can change their minds rather quickly when they see that I can be a heavy-hitter. After all, my hope is Jesus--not a human being, but having their support when He speaks to their hearts will go a long way!

At any rate--here's to all that comes to light, makes life better for all and for the #BlueWaveTsunami that will lead to my filing my FEC application. I can hardly wait!

Christianity and Political Parties!

Since there are really no passages of scripture that deal directly with politics, I thought I'd share some of the comments that have made to me over the course of this year. Many, who claim to be Christians revealed their political party preference and concluded that I couldn't be a Christian and be Democrat.

But I can and am! To be perfectly honest, I'd bet the farm that Jesus is more proud of me as a Democrat than He is of some the Republicans who only want to control others, not do the work as He commanded us to do.

They want to control what women do with their bodies; they want to legislate or rather re-legislate what the 2nd Amendment means and their purported interest in the "church having priority over government." They have misunderstood and misrepresented the 1st Amendment and continue to lie to anyone who's foolish enough to listen without doing some research of their own.

No long dissertation today, just a few words in pictorial formats to underscore my point!

The Reason For The Season!

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  Luke 2:1-11 NIV

Those of us who understand that being a Christian means we follow Christ know why we celebrate this season. We are not concerned with saying, Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays (specifically for the secular segment of society) but in knowing that at some point in time, over 2000 years ago, we were given the greatest gift that could ever be given, and it couldn’t be purchased in a mall for any amount of money. The birth of a Savior, God coming in the likeness of sinful flesh, to save all who choose to believe in Him. Though He made the sacrifice–giving His life for ours almost 34 years later–we still celebrate His birth for without it–there would not have been a crucifixion or a Resurrection–paving the way for us to enter into Heaven.

Today, on the eve of the celebration for many of us–I just wanted to remind people that we do indeed have a reason to celebrate this season for it had not been for The Lord, where would we be?

Fortunately, for us–He loves us enough to respect our choices in doing whatever we do–whether He approves our choices or not–He respects our right to choose–both what we do and the consequences. I really wish–we who proclaim to be Christians–followers of Christ–not people–could get to that same place of understanding. We don’t have to agree or approve what others choose to do, but we should respect their right to choose–just as God does.

Personally, I’m thankful that God allowed me to choose some of the paths I’ve taken in life–though I know He didn’t approve–He allowed me to make the choices and deal with the consequences and in dealing with those consequences, I learned just how much He loves me. Who are we to get in the way of those who will learn from the consequences of their choices, no matter what they are?

I encourage all Christians (true Believers) to think about how we can best encourage (not command or make) others to believe in the Savior we know. The best sermon–as many have said before me–is the one we live, not the one we talk about. If I never utter another word about how good God is–I would hope that everything I do–says it much louder than I could ever hope to say and more people would turn to Him–not me, because of who He is!

This is the time of year we should think even more about the plight of others and make a commitment to help those who are simply not in a position to help themselves. Thoughtfulness, consideration of others–is one way we can live The Word, instead of just talking The Word.

For tomorrow–I’m spending time with family–as I prepare our dinner–doing things that families do. I’m praying for peace in the world and joy in the hearts in every person and for those who feel abandoned in shape or form, know that there is someone praying for you and if I knew who you were, I’d invite you to share our dinner because we always find room and food for more.

Enjoy this day doing your last minute shopping! Stay safe and alert for the enemy would love to steal your joy by destroying hope and faith in Jesus by influencing someone to do a dastardly act. And then spend tomorrow loving others and enjoying life while we live. Luv2LuvU!

Breaking News! Republicans Lie Again!

On the surface--it may seem like a change, but in order to really understand what the "tax reform bill" as a whole, one has to read the entire 800 page document to see how many will be impacted. The elimination of the "ACA mandate" for insurance sounds good, but every person paying for healthcare insurance will see a rise in premiums in 2018 and beyond. Once insurance premiums rise, they never decrease.
All of the Republicans admit--none of them have read the entire document--and they don't know if they can pay the $1.5 trillion dollar deficit. They will "GUT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE" to pay for this bill. They don't care because they gave themselves great loopholes to use to offset their tax burden, but Senior Citizens become the biggest losers in all the printed pages. We don't own golf courses so therefore we don't get credit for the maintenance of them or private aircraft or commercial real estate.
Whether a person agrees with what they've done or not, I have but one serious question to ask: How can Everyday Americans trust elected officials who pass major legislation without reading all that it entails or tell the truth about the final fallout?
Read carefully and remember they will be going back to the plan to adjust for the fact that the plan won't produce the tax revenue to keep the government going.

 

For the rational thinking Americans, we know what we have to do--in 2018--create a Blue Wave Tsunami across the country, Repealing and Replacing all the GOP seats in Congress so that Americans can survive and thrive. With all of the repeal of Consumer Protection regulations, we know that people will die from air pollutants, toxic water with plant run-offs, and chemicals in food and cattle. When people get sick from these environmental issues, they won't have healthcare because they won't be able to afford it. Thereby, creating a rise in the funeral industry when deaths increase. Don't take my word for it, check the projections for yourself.

CEOs have already said, they won't use tax savings to invest in jobs or wages. If we pay attention to history, we know the economy doesn't thrive with reduced taxes, it thrives when there is sufficient tax revenue accrued to pay for government expenses. Now, since the Republicans plan to spend billions on a wall and to increase military spending by billions, they can only cut--education, social security, medicaid, medicare, CHIP and SNAP, all which are needed to sustain the Red States.

In addition to not giving the middle class the tax cut promised, the bill also allows national lands to be used for drilling for oil--in an attempt to fossilize us further rather than moving forward with clean energy plans. The United States will be responsible for creating a hazard with climate changes we see across the globe.

The other inclusions--and there are many--will do nothing to increase the quality of life for anyone other than the Greedy Old Predators.

Remember this--short-term gratification--usually leads to long-term problems.

The War Declared on America--Before 2016!

 

Before the election in November 2016, a coup was being planned by Russian operatives (with Putin’s blessings), and the Republican leadership, with Donald J. Trump and they declared war when they chose to accept financial support from Russian Oligarchs, with knowledge aforehand for Wikileaks to engage in questionable practices of cyber pilfering, conspired to rig the election in their favor. With the additional assistance of paid trolls and bots — they effectively duped and conned gullible “Hillary Haters” into believing all the nastiness they produced and promoted on social media, convincing them to vote for The Rapist.

On November 8, 2016 — with all the plans in place — the war ensued and the noxious Republicans were the victors and now they plan to gather the spoils of their war by further raping and pillaging the Treasury of the United States with their Tax Scam Bill. The tax cuts designed to “repay donors” will eventually dilute and diminish revenue sources needed to keep the government afloat, but that wasn’t enough for the Corrupt Greedy Old Predators. They also made sure they benefited mightily from the changes in tax structure so that while it seems the middle class benefits (if they make over $100K a year) — they don’t. Only the rich benefit — the poor and vulnerable will probably not survive for the next ten years. Cuts to healthcare assistance, education, and the roll back of consumer protection regulations will Kill Millions in America. The deaths of millions of America won’t bother the warmongers because then, they won’t have any opposition to Resist them and America will cease to be a democratic republic, but instead will be a dictatorship — led by Greedy Old Predators — who prey on the poor and vulnerable — no heart or compassion residing within.

Knowing the gullible will not read a 503 page document, the Greedy Old Predators proceed to lie to them, holding out a carrot of a couple of thousand dollars saved a year (for only one year), without explaining the tax cut is a temporary measure for them, but a permanent for the corporations whose CEOs have said, they don’t need the tax cuts and they will not invest the savings into creating jobs. Trickle-down economics has never worked and it won’t work now.

In addition to pilfering the Treasury (by The Rapists and the millions billed to the treasury), the Greedy Old Predators are also sitting back, twiddling their thumbs while The Rapist plans to ruin our national monuments and encroach upon Native American land — without thought or consideration as to what the damage will do — their only concern — is greed and since The Rapist is used to filing bankruptcy — it won’t bother him at all to bankrupt America, but the Greedy Old Predators are too blinded by their own greed to see what’s about to happen. At least that could be true of many, but certainly not Paul Ryan who has chafing at the bit to gut social security and medicare — probably because they serve as reminders to his start in life — a start he’d like to forget and pretend he’s been “in the money” most of his life. How cruel and abominable their actions are against the vulnerable in our country!

But it’s not just the Greedy Old Predators in Congress to helped to bring about this demise of a great country by first nominating and then electing a sexual predator — the Evangelicals — the “holier-than-thou” misfits who promoted the narrative that God chose The Rapist. Apparently, they meant the god of this world, not the God of Heaven because the God of Heaven would not choose anyone who doesn’t know Him to do any great thing. Regardless of what the Evangelical community spouts — The Rapist is not a Christian and won’t be no matter how many times they “lay hands on him and pray.” The devil is a liar and we know The Rapist belongs to him.

It is ideological premises that have led us to this place — “those wearing the label of Christianity, yet know not how to do the work of the label” and not true Christianity. True Christians know that God is love and that He has commanded us to love one another and to defend the rights of the poor and the needy — not the greedy.

It is the existing tribalism in Congress that will keep us in a place of subservience with the Greedy Old Predators in charge. They would rather vote in lock step with The Rapist rather than make country and their constituents a priority in their decision-making.

All of this has been said before — in many different ways — but saying it again and as often as needed, will hopefully cause the gullibles to wake up and smell the stench coming from the White House and determine to do something about it — while they have a chance. That chance will arrive on November 6, 2018 — for us to create a Blue Wave Tsunami and truly take our country back from the Greedy Old Predators and The Rapist — recovering our status with world leaders who think we have collectively lost our minds by allowing such an abomination reside in the White House.

We can do this and all it takes is for everyone who can read and think to consider joining other Everyday Americans and setting this stagecoach upright — reclaiming our time! We need fair and balanced decision-makers in Congress, not tribalism and certainly not Russian plants.

As I Watch...

As I watch what is happening in this country, I am consistently amazed at how easy it is to dupe, non-thinking, bigoted people.

The gullible, and some who have to have superior intellect, believed the lies of the most odious person on the planet in America.

They believed he cared about people (specifically to working class)--he does--those who are "uneducated" and believe his lies. Those who are just as bigoted as he is and those who hate President Obama simply because of his skin color. Yeah, he cares about all those people--the 33% forgetting about the rest. The tax bill that he is so anxious to sign, does not benefit the middle-class as touted, but the rich--especially the rich donors who want to see a return on their investment by electing a traitor.

I'm watching Christianity spiral into the dung heap of pagan religions because of the "religious-right" who have no relationship with Christ and are disgusting those who do as well as those who don't believe. They would rather vilify those who disagree with them, rather than come to a place of understanding by talking and listening to one another. They tout they are "pro-life" when in actuality, they are simply "fetus lovers" since they do not respect or care for life outside the womb. We know this is true based upon the policies they support that take from the poor to give to the rich. They claim to be Christians--wearing the label only--but never doing the work. They quote scripture on social media outlets--proclaiming their love of God when they have forgotten that it is difficult to see how anyone could love someone they cannot see when they don't love those they see (1 John 4:20). They have also forgotten that the Word says, "to whom much is given, much is required."

But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. Luke 12:48 NIV

As I watch--complicit Republicans plot to fire Robert Mueller, creating "facts" without evidence and igniting anarchy against the FBI, I'm appalled that in a country founded upon the principle that everyone is entitled to freedom of speech and opinion. And just because FBI agents shared opinions with others--does not make them unable to do their jobs. I'm flabbergasted at how elected officials are such whiners simply because people don't agree with TraitorDon. I mean really--using who contributed to whom as a basis to determine culpability or inability to do one's job! Only a desperate person would even attempt to rationalize that strategy. In particular, I've referring to Jim Jordan--Ohio Republican and Matt Gaetz--Florida Republican--the noise makers who talk so fast, they trip over their words and most psychologists would recognize the desperation in their frenetic discourse.

They're afraid. Truth will prevail--no matter how much they whine and to suggest--appointing a second special counsel to investigate the first special counsel is not only ludicrous, but negligent because of the cost involved.

As I watch unfolding events on a daily basis, I am not deterred at the foolish and the mockery of Patriotism; I'm empowered--more determined that ever to get into position to make a real change in America where all Americans are valued and respected--where we put Patriotism over tribalism and all benefit from the process.

As I watch interactions on social media, I'm counting on all those who post their disdain of the current political climate to act and support all (not just me) who want to make things better for all.

As I watch the situation, God is also watching. He knows who really belongs to Him and it's not just those who "quote His Word" but cannot live the life of a True Believer.

Though I am not perfect, I serve a perfect God who will guide me into all truth and pour wisdom into my heart that I may know how to serve all by serving Him.

We Have Power and Authority!

Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits. Mark 6:7 NIV
I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Ephesians 3:7 NIV

While the religious are working to undermine the Spirit of The Word of God, we who have received Jesus into our hearts and live to please Him, know we have power by Holy Spirit to accomplish all things--loving all unconditionally--and in doing The Word, not just spouting The Word.

The power and authority are not just given to us to preach the Gospel, but to live the Gospel and to carry over into our everyday lives. We have the power within to receive all the visions and gifts Holy Spirit has for us in order to accomplish all we need to do here on earth.

Unfortunately, there are some who are acting as if the power we have through Holy Spirit is intended to have power over people to control them. God never intended for people--especially not Christians--to control others, but to share the Gospel with them so they, too could receive Holy Spirit and allow Him to control what we do. That's the Power that needs to control, not the rich who think they are all "powerful" and have a right to dictate to others. The evangelical movement has forgotten what "evangelism" means. It is not about forcing others to share a viewpoint, but to spread the love of Christ and the Gospel message which is "love" not dictatorship. The power we have is not about being religious, but to keep us in Relationship with Christ.

When we love, we do so without hesitation or confrontation, but with acceptance that we are all one race--the human race--and we are all entitled to the same fair, equitable treatment by all. This is not a question of loyalty to a party, but it's about loving other human beings, not controlling them. I've said this before and I'll say it again, "God allows us to CHOOSE our paths" and no one else should intervene, knowing there are consequences for whichever path we take in life. That's God's way; it is not the way of evangelicals who think they need to control others--especially women.

For the rest of the Believers--we must choose to exercise the power and authority given to us through Holy Spirit so we can promote love, integrity and honor in every arena and event in which we participate. GOD IS LOVE! He loves us in spite of our imperfections and He never told us to put political party views over the care of one another. The least we can do is to love others as He loves us and "defend the rights" of the poor and needy. That's what He expects us to do--not control people.

I can't speak for others, but my only desire in running for President in 2020 will be to serve the needs of the people, not to beat people into submission to my will or the will of a political party. Lord, Help!

Once again, we seem to be spinning out of control--America at-large that is. I'm guessing, it's because as a society, we have been far too lenient and tolerant of unacceptable behavior that many have brushed off or under a rug.

No long winded commentary today, just a reminder about where we stand in the eyes of the world. Sexual assault, misconduct, harassment are not acceptable by anyone towards anyone else. We are supposed to be civilized human beings and I'm wondering when we'll demonstrate that to others. No one--NO ONE--should be touched or man-handled by another person unless they are consenting to the act. 14 year-olds do not legally have the right to consent and most don't. Having stated the obvious, what we are doing in this country when:

Al Franken is never given the opportunity for due process to take its course when he concedes to his party's requests and resigns.

John Conyers resigns amid sexual misconduct allegations and failing health.

Trent Franks resigns because apparently he doesn't understand what constitutes sexual misconduct when speaking about surrogacy with employees.

Blake Farenthold is offering to pay back $84 thousand dollars paid to squash allegations of sexual misconduct and to resign.

Both Democrats and Republicans on the surface at least, have demonstrated some sense of decency and responsibility.

But then we have an accused pedophile running for the Senate in Alabama in order to hold a Republican seat in Congress and people are applauding him and claiming his accusers are criminals. I'd like to know where that law is written--if a person accuses someone of a crime--they become the criminal! Sounds like some misogynistic, bigoted premise that only a fool would believe. But then again, let's look at who's supporting him. Senate Majority Leader--Mitch McConnell and trump--who has over 12 women accusing him of sexual misconduct.

Neither Roy Moore or TraitorDon plan to step aside or resign. Why? They deny doing anything wrong and claim the women lie. I believe the women, but if the rest of America doesn't take a stand, the women will never be heard.

Quite frankly, I'm tired of old white and black men thinking they can do whatever they want to do to women and think--the women should be thankful for the attention. It's time to put a stop to this often overlooked stain on our society and clean it up. We can and we must--by hearing the whole of the matter and not just brushing situations aside.

Until we can put aside tribalistic bonds and see people, we need to create a new environment in Congress, led by women who (hopefully) will not abuse their positions, but do all they can to uphold the constitution and in caring about their constituents. So, in this brief commentary (by my usual standards), I encourage women all over the United States to get involved so we can take care of the business of governing, not fighting accusations of sexual misconduct.

And let's face one simple fact: none of us is perfect for there are no perfect human beings walking the face of the earth. However, if we wait for a perfect person to elect them, our society will be without government. So, let's do the best we can to elect the best available for the benefit of all in America!

Purpose of Truth!

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 NIV

There's so much behind this statement from Jesus that we should hold fast to that neither time nor space will be sufficient for the elaboration I could make, but I'll go as far as I can, within the constraints that I have.

Jesus was talking to the Jews who believed He was who He said He was and He could do what He said He could do. But let's go back a verse. "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples." John 8:31. "If you hold to my teaching..." Whose holding onto His teachings? Certainly not the Republicans--who once claimed to the party of "moral majority" and who are now--the party of American Terrorists Inc.

I could start and end with the Tax Scam Bill that only benefits the rich, but there's so much more. First of all, poor people and most of the middle class--don't earn enough money to benefit from the repeal of the estate tax. We don't private air crafts, golf courses or wineries. You know who does? Yep--you got it--trump crime family! And it doesn't stop at them--Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell--the GOP leadership are also in bed with the Russians and since they fear losing their donors--Murdoch, Mercer and Koch brothers--more than their constituents--who actually voted for them, they are just as guilty as the trumped (I'll explain in a paragraph or two) crime family. In fact, only one GOP senator, Bob Corker--cared enough about his constituents to vote against the monstrosity tax bill that will eventually be responsible for the deaths of millions.

But while you wade through the muddled waters let me summarize some points of interest. The elimination of the ACA mandate will lead to higher insurance premium costs for those of us who are unfortunate enough to use health insurance. But remember--we're also the ones who can't afford the coverage we pay for as it is. College students will no longer be able to deduct interest paid on student loans and if they receive scholarships, the scholarships will be taxed as income which will essentially wipe out any benefit for poor families who usually (not always) apply for and get the scholarships because they are smart enough to go to college, but families are not wealthy enough to pay for it. Charitable deductions will decrease because it is usually the wealthy who establish charitable foundations and just about anyone can contribute, but now--those contributions can no longer be deducted. Even with the decreased tax formula for corporations--they have already said, they would NOT use savings to invest in business, but will distribute to shareholders or CEOs as bonuses. How's that helping the working class, again?

Then, there are all those other little nuggets that make Republicans spasm in ecstasy. Now, a fetus can be declared eligible for a 529 deduction, and for the purposes of circumventing Roe v Wade, GOP asserts life begins at conception in order to make women liable for having an abortion. Itemized deductions have disappeared along with state and local tax deductions, home equity, medical expenses and so much more. Now, remember I said there would be an increase in deducting estate taxes and that includes gift taxes. So, I guess for purposes of simplicity--IF the poor were rich, they could gift their money to their children and not pay taxes on it. But the rich get richer with changes to the AMT (alternative minimum tax rate).

Wow! Just found a huge break for poor people! Because we're going to be paying more in taxes, GOP decided to make sure we would file by providing free tax filing through IRS (already in place, but don't expect to get back more).

This could go on for days but let me get back to the trump crime family and how they benefit. A family corporation gets deductions and all sorts of breaks up to $25,000,000. Now, how many of you are making $25,000,000 a year in a family business? They're also the ones who get the breaks on owning the wineries, the golf courses, and the air craft maintenance. Since we have no idea of what their taxes look like, we'll never know whether they exceed the limit or if in fact they're paying their fair share (fair as defined by the Greedy Old Predators).

The truth is--though the GOP claim to be Christians (followers of Christ), they know not how to do what He said. What did He tell us to do? Defend the rights of the poor and the needy; feed and house them (Matthew 25), love all--unconditionally (the greatest commandment) and to know--there will come a reckoning day when we'll all stand before Him and give an account of what we've done in the earth. Some--(GOP primarily) who think they'll get into heaven will be surprised when they hear, "Depart from me, you workers of iniquity. I NEVER knew you." They have forgotten one very important truth--it is more difficult for a "rich man to get into heaven than a poor one" primarily because the poor--spend more time trying to help others than the rich who worship their money. Don't believe me--do some research! How about this one little tidbit--the trump foundation--collected money from others for the ostensible purpose of helping those in need, and yet they used the money for themselves--a football, a portrait, buying favors with elected officials--all the things--poor people don't do.

And let's not forget how we arrived at this place--loss of integrity and honor from elected leaders--the evangelical community--the ones who are supposed to truly reverence God and His Word--lied to their congregations about trump being a Christian and in some cases, beat them over the head with the notion that as a Christian--they HAD to vote for trump. Pushing a personal agenda by manipulation is not exactly the Will of God--as they promoted. The Will of God--as bestowed upon us all to choose is accepting the fact that God is a God of choice, not manipulation. He does not and will not take "choice" from us and makes clear there are consequences for our choices--good or bad.
We're now in the "horrible consequence" phase because of weak-minded individuals who chose to join a cult and worship the demagogue--trump. This cult supports and encourages corruption at the highest level (evil in high places), sexual predators and pedophiles and wants us all to look the other way--when treason is about to be laid out before the nation. They attempt to "gaslight" us with screams of "fake news" when the only groups reporting fake news is Fox News, Breitbart and Infowars (as well as trumptv). These groups only present opinions without any journalistic integrity and they certainly don't represent Christ-like values promoting bigotry and hatred.

Okay, I guess I have to end this, but I wanted to make some truths clear so people would be "free" to read, research and judge a matter for themselves, rather than just accept the talking points of a corrupt group of Greedy Old Predators. I believe America can do so much better without those professing to be Christians and aren't with those who are and live the life so all will know--who truly knows and trusts Jesus Christ.

Robber Barons

Dear Congressional GOP:

After you voted to pass the tax bill that no one had read this morning, I think we can safely conclude you are indeed--21st Century Robber Barons--along with your wealthy donors and lobbyists.
Robber-Baron--an American capitalist of the latter part of the 19th century who became wealthy through exploitation (as of natural resources, governmental influence, or low wage scales) (Merriam-Webster definition).

You have decided that appeasing your donors was more important that representing your constituents (60% of whom were against this bill) which means among other things, you cannot claim to represent your constituents and we can claim "taxation without representation" since you ignored the calls and letters submitted by Americans. That means, a tax revolt--the foundation on which this country was founded--revolting against evil.

Before you attempt to take the high road, let me remind all of the hypocrites who claim to be Christians, yet know not Christ. How do I know you don't know Christ? Because Christ would not promote or support--ever--abandoning the poor and needy. In fact, we are told in The Word of God to defend the rights of the poor and needy. "Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:9) But I guess the only time you open your bible is to just read, not understand or to lift a scripture out to quote to those gullible enough to believe you belong to Christ. If you cannot do Christianity, don't wear the label--it makes you a hypocrite.

Would Christ concern Himself with providing tax relief for those who own private airplanes or golf courses?

Would Christ tax scholarships for students trying to further their education so they can be more productive in society?

Would Christ eliminate funding sources that inhibit access to affordable healthcare for the poor and leave those without health insurance to die from inability to continue treatment for terminal illnesses?

Would Christ ignore the very basic principle or tenet of Christianity--loving all--unconditionally?

Would Christ eat in abundance and live lavishly while others went hungry?

Would Christ build a wall to hinder those seeking shelter and safety from doing so?

I suggest, strongly, dear Republican Hypocrites that you have never read what Jesus said in Matthew 25:33-45 in any version of a bible. Therefore, let me remind you by publishing it in this letter and perhaps you and your staffers (hope they make more than $75K a year or you may see a revolt) can meditate upon the meaning and then read from a version of your choosing.

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. When you stand before God on Judgment Day, what will you hear Him say? "Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Come and share your master's happiness!'" Matthew 25:23

I live my life as a Christian--doing the label and not just wearing it--and I know when I stand before Him I shall hear, "Well done!"

You have time to change your course, but since you are arrogant and believe you're right, you won't. I would say, I would pray for you, but then, that would dishonor God's Word when He told Jeremiah--“So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you." Jeremiah 7:16 NIV You might want to read the first 15 verses for context and understanding. Fits all of you!

So, believe this: I will do everything in my power to persuade, cajole, encourage, convince voters across the country to stop believing the Republican lies and to turn the country Blue in 2018 elections and 2020 elections! You see because in the Word of God, the Democrats are the righteous since we do what The Word says do and you are on the goats on the left--defying His Word to support your greed and corruption.  You are indeed--the epitome of a Robber Baron operating in the 21st Century as an appendage of your lobbyists.  Never again!

#Resisting and Deterring the evil of the Republican Tribalism

Words Just Don't Express!

I've spent most of the day, tweeting and calling and encouraging others to call or write the FCC to protect our rights to a free and accessible Internet. The tweets and emails to politicians who were elected to represent the views and perspectives of their constituents but have apparently forgotten all about that. What we see today in the media regarding the illicit leader is beyond words for me. He attacks and demeans everyone proudly proclaiming his lack of intellect, civility and dignity and has certainly put a toxic stain upon the integrity of the office of president.

I've tried praying and writing and writing and praying and tweeting and begging his daughter to care enough about him to get him the help he needs--all to no avail.

I'm not the only person who sees trump falling apart or has some would say, having a meltdown that is evident in everything he does. To say that he didn't know what the job entailed would be an understatement, but it didn't stop him from undermining and demeaning President Obama. To say that he doesn't understand how government works--another understatement--he has no clue and none of his enablers will tell him the truth. To say he doesn't understand history--the biggest understatement I could make in my lifetime. What trump doesn't know--about anything remotely related to governing--is enough to fill a few oceans. But I'm trying to be careful of my depiction of him.

You see, unlike him, I know karma can leave a sting in the butt that nothing can remove or ease the pain. I'm planning to be in the White House in 2021 after a successful win, not garnered by cheating with Russians or anyone else for that matter and certainly not by suppressing the rights of others to vote, or not counting their votes. You see, this is how trump won and those who enable him, are his apologists and supporters--know exactly how he won.

I care about how history will treat me as I serve the American people. Notice I said, "serve" not dictate to them, but honor them in all that I do and my commitment to make life better for all Everyday Americans. I also know that "compromise" is not a foul word and that it takes compromise--from both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill to get things moving and growing. I know I don't have time or energy to feed my ego to make governing America all about me--it's all about, "We The People" whether people vote for me or not. I cannot just consider policies that benefit only those who voted for me. In fact, once the election is over, I must start composing an agenda and garnering all the experts who will help me make it happen.

I'm not rich--far from it.  I'm a retired educator with a limited income and will have to raise money for my campaign using rather unusual methods and encourage all who want to see real change in Washington to help support my bid. I've already calculated that since (before deportations and others changing their citizenship after 2016 election) our population is about 327 million, I'm guessing that roughly 80% of those are registered voters and will vote--best guestimate. That means there are approximately 261 million registered voters and if 40% of those voters (104 million) would donate $3 towards my campaign, I'd have enough to do everything I need to win and turn the tide in bringing America back to its former position of being a leader on the global stage.

Oh, sure. I know there are skeptics about my ability--heck some days, I allow the enemy to convince me I'm wasting my time, but then something happens to re-ignite my hope and faith, and I gear myself up to keep on going. That's what this post is about--pushing me to keep on going. Listen, many could create a list of things that I don't know about governing, but I'll start my list as to what I do know: I know I love this country and every citizen in it--and I know how to love unconditionally because I am loved--unconditionally. I care about the well being of everyone--especially the poor and the vulnerable. I know with the right people around me--guiding and advising me, America can only get better--adding to its greatness. I know I can take with me to the White House, dignity, integrity and honor--along with a sense of humor and a bit of silliness to shake off the negative Nellies. I also don't golf--if that means anything to anyone--I'm pretty much a homebody--traveling only when I need to do so. I love to read, write, bowl, and watch a good movie. I also love to encourage others to extend themselves--beyond their reach--in order to reach their goals.

I know I don't have to be rich to know what's best for others. I've been through the struggles and challenges that many face--being a single mother, having had a childhood full of lack, no one pushing or encouraging my direction in my life, but there was within me--a spark--that ignited risk and kept me going--daring to venture into fields and arenas where I had no knowledge. And as one person told me through the years, "No matter what happened to you, you always landed on your feet."
I'm adventurous--a pragmatic optimist--and I seldom give up or give in when I'm trying to accomplish anything. I refuse to let circumstances inhibit me. Sometimes I've failed to accomplish all that I wanted to accomplish, but with the failures always came the lessons and it is the lessons learned in life--with all of my miss-steps and flaws that have molded me into being the person I am today.
That's right--I'm confident I am the Everyday American leader we need to have the voices of all Everyday Americans heard.

We Must Intercede!

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles. Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. 1 Timothy 2:1-8 NIV

What does it mean to intercede on behalf of others? We seek God  or act on their behalf when it appears they are incapable of doing the right thing on their own.

Interventions are an act of love and concern for an individual or people who are headed in the wrong direction. Family interventions are needed with loved ones who succumb to addiction or other negative behaviors and in some cases, interventions are needed in workplaces where those in authority fail to see how their actions affect the whole in a negative way.

Since we have an idiot in the White House--who is incapable of rational, logical thinking--we must intercede--praying for him, his family and the entire administration who has succumbed to cult mentality and will not rein him in.

We pray against the lying that is so pervasive from those in the White House, they won't even admit when they're lying. They have succumbed to the thought that "alternative facts" are actual facts and not another label for "lies."

We pray against their plots to conspire against America and all Americans with their blatantly obvious rhetoric and behavior that leads to the erosion of our Constitution and eventual destruction of our democracy.

We pray against all those white nationalists who seek to divide and further destroy humanity with their hatred and bigotry.

We pray against all the dictators and authoritarians and their hold on any US citizen.

We pray against all liars who deliberately attempt to deceive the nations and any group of people by use of false propaganda in whatever form it takes.

We pray that all people everywhere, will open their eyes and see truth, empty their hearts of hatred and allow love to fill the void, and close their ears to lies perpetuated by those who have decided to join the devil's army and hear only truth from the Spirit of God, residing within.

It is time to stop complaining about all the stuff occurring in our politics, cities, capitol and all over the world and do something. The one thing we can do stop all the stupidity is to recognize and receive truth when we hear and to encourage all to get out and vote--vote for those who have demonstrated by their actions that they are humanitarians, capable of loving and concern for others and not just the folks who "claim to be Christians, but we see no Christ in them."

It is up to us who know how Christ lived as an example to us to do what He would do. It is up to us to care for the poor, needy, and vulnerable and to fight for their rights. It is up to us to call out lies whenever and wherever we hear or see them. Those of us who know truth, should never be afraid to speak truth and expose the lies and the liars.

Therefore, by now all with a functioning brain should understand that we have a liar-in-chief in the White House and all of his spokespersons lie when they regurgitate his lies. There are no alternative facts to spin the lies--they lie--pure and simple and every time they lie or promote false propaganda, truth is easily and quickly revealed.

Mainstream Media--CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WAPO, ABC, NBC are not fake news. Fox News--is not a news network, but a licensed entertainment network that posits opinions and biased opinions that promote hatred and bigotry. Hillary Clinton is not a pedophile or trafficking in child sex rings--no matter how many times someone says it. Nor is she or Bob Mueller in the least responsible or culpable for the Uranium One situation. That has been debunked over and over again and only the foolish and gullible still believe and promote it.

Time magazine did not call trump to say anything to him about being the Person of the Year, trump was not responsible for the release of the basketball players in China, and he is under investigation--no matter how they try to spin it. More importantly, trump doesn't have a clue as to what he's supposed to be doing and those who believe he does--need much prayer and revelations of truth. He is not a savior of the world, nor is he a great negotiator. He is a greedy, self-involved corrupt person (not a real man) who is only interested in making himself richer by violating the Constitution. His rhetoric with North Korea is a distraction to keep his base from paying attention the Mueller investigation which is closing in on all those involved in the 2016 election rigging. Of course those who believe, "God chose trump to be president," will never believe the truth because if they did, they'd have to admit--they were wrong and actually lied.

Republicans in the House clamoring for an investigation are merely providing a distraction to the gullible in hopes they will not pay attention to the unfolding and revealing revelations about their "savior and his minions."

It is time--no past time--that we who know Christ--have a relationship with Him and desire to only please Him and not people to act like we know Him and stop spreading the lies and convoluted propaganda that will eventually lead to greater loss of lives than we have recently seen. Hate destroys--love builds. When hatred is the driving force for policy decisions that affect all people, we must root out the hatred and plant love so we will not allow the decimation of millions of people.
In the coming elections--we must not allow predatory, hateful people to sit in positions of authority, making decisions for those they have violated in one way or another. We must vote for those who want to help others. Republicans--at this point--have only shown their love of a fetus--not a life after it gets here with their support of sexual predators, loss of access to healthcare and the very basics of humanitarian need. They should called themselves--"fetus-lovers" since they have no plans to assist lives once they are born. They are not the true representatives of Christ and though they loathe Democrats--Democrats have proven they have more love in their hearts for others than the "fetus-lovers."

I stand in the gap--interceding for all--for those who hearts need comforting from the loss of loved ones through military actions or madmen assaults because our law-makers care more about the NRA's donations than they do people; I'm interceding on behalf of all those whose income is less than $75K a year--that they'll get involved and called their representatives in Congress and tell them, "Not one penny for the rich if the poor don't get more." I'm interceding on behalf of all who love truth and will not perpetuate a lie that they'll find the courage and boldness to call out all who blatantly lie to make themselves something they are not.

Go vote and elect those who care about all people--not just the white people or the straight people or the "fetus-lovers" but ALL people.  This is why we must intercede with prayers and our votes!

 

 

Giving Thanks!

Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. Today--encourage all to enjoy the day--giving thanks for all we have, all we didn't get when we wanted it and for all the miss-steps we've taken in life in order for God to get us where we are. I love me--just the way I am--but didn't always for the way, I used to be. But now, I have a reason to give thanks--daily--the grace of God that has sustained me through trials and wrong directions for over 65 years.

Listen, I've been there and done that--facing all the challenges and struggles I know many have and are facing. I know what it's like to be a single mother raising two children in the depths of the ghetto, always praying for their safety as well as my own.

But I'm a big girl and I learned to take life's knocks with a spring-back attitude. I never let one failure or disappointment keep me down. That doesn't mean I wasn't discouraged from time to time, but I refused to allow discouragement and discontent keep me from my destination even when I wasn't sure where I was headed.

I had a dream and I put a lot of credence in dreams. For years, I dreamed that I was running through a school, trying to get to class and though I always started out fully dressed in the dream, I always ended up naked--wondering why people were staring at me. When I got a chance to go back to school in my forties, I stopped having the dream. Not only did I complete my BA in Sociology and English, I kept going until I finished a MA in English and Speech and then completed all the coursework for a Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in English and Special Education.

During a lay-off in which I didn't have a full time job for two years, I had an opportunity to really look at where I was headed. I realized that teaching was no longer a viable career and I couldn't/wouldn't attempt to encourage anyone to go into a field that did not offer a wage comparable to other professions and one in which very few people respected teachers. When I finished the coursework, I stopped--no longer interested in completing that particular path for it no longer had meaning for me and my passion subsided. Don't get me wrong--I still love teaching--it is my passion, but I could not look another person in the eye and encourage them to get into that field.

At any rate, I retired and am working seven hours a week--teaching college courses. But then came the 2016 election and Hillary lost (with Russia's help). I, along with millions of others railed against the rigged election, and started working social media to vent. On the night #TraitorDon launched missiles into Syria just to flex his muscles, I dreamed I had a conversation with him. In the dream, I told him I was running for president and he told me, I couldn't because I wasn't qualified. I told him I was more qualified than he was and then I woke up. I was attending a tax march and watching others and listening to their concerns, I reflected upon the dream and here I am, months later, preparing my run for president in 2020.

Not everyone understands what's driving me to do this--especially since I have no previous political experience--but I have a passion to represent all Everyday Americans and to make sure they have a voice in the White House. People I've talked to are more concerned about Republicans digging up dirt than I am. I'm not afraid of any discoveries since my life is outlined on the Internet in various mediums.

No matter what others say, I will not be deterred; especially if Democrats are successful in flipping the House in 2018. If I lose, I lose, but no one will ever say I didn't try. After all, I'm planning to win and I'll never know what I can do, unless I try.

I may not be the perfect candidate, but there are none. So, here's what I have--a desire to serve, considering all and not supporting or promoting any policies that cause harm to people, planet or economy. We do not need to build a wall to keep immigrants out; we need to build relationships that solidify positive forward movement. We need to provide accessible, affordable healthcare to every American. We need to focus our attention on making sure our children have access to a quality, free college education. We need to make sure our senior citizens never have to worry about where or how they're going to live because of their limited incomes. We need to shore up our justice system so justice is equitable and fair no matter a person's income, gender or race. We need to secure our standing on the global stage by being #1 again in the eyes of other world leaders and doing all we can to make sure the world can live in peace and we can keep our planet sustaining life, not destroying life.

My ancestors were not immigrants, they were imported to make life better for those who migrated from Europe to live in this land. There are groups of hate-filled, bigoted people who desire to deport every person who is not white in order to "preserve their race" with white privilege. I'm not a hater, don't understand hate and don't want to understand hate. But I will not stand by and silently allow any group of people to attempt to silence or denigrate others. I'm a known rebel and I won't stop when I know there's something I can do to help others.
